Dear *******,
Commonwealth Financial Systems, Inc.(CFSI) acknowledges receipt of Complaint # ******** on behalf of *******************. Please be advised, Commonwealth Financial Systems, Inc. is a third-party collection agency and as such, we do not have contracts directly with consumers. We service accounts on behalf of our clients with whom we share a contract and who has purchased the account from the original creditor. The original creditor has a right to sell/charge-off accounts after they become seriously past due. While the consumer did not create the debt with the collection agency, the original creditor has sold/charged off the original debt to our client who then assigned it to our office for collection. This is what gives the collection agency the ability to collect for an outstanding debt.
The account in question was validated on as part of a reasonable investigation and determined we are attempting to collect the debt from the correct consumer. We also requested additional documentation from the current creditor and have forwarded this information to consumer. We will continue to note the account as disputed. Should consumer have documentation or information supporting they aren't responsible for the debt, we encourage such evidence be provided to allow us to more fully investigate the matter with our client. This information can be mailed to our office at 245 Main Street, Dickson City, PA 18519, or emailed to accountmanager@cfsi-arm.com. To prevent any delays, the CFSI Acct #********* should be documented on all correspondence. I noticed that Commonwealth Financial Systems is reporting to the three major credit bureaus. I have never conducted business with this company so I sent a letter requesting debt validation. It has been more than 30 days and the company has refused to send me any debt validating documents Please note that an itemized statement is NOT debt validation. This company has never notified me that 646.00 was due. This company did not have permission to access my medical records, medical billing statements, social security number, name, date of birth, address, phone number, or any other personal identifier. This is my final attempt to having this debt deleted from my credit report before I file a small claims suit in Harris County court. This company has 30 days remaining before this matter is litigated in the court of law.Business response
