In 2022 we purchased a new construction custom home from JA Myers Building & Development. The entire process was a nightmare, and getting the builder to make repairs and perform work correctly on a 500k home has been like pulling teeth. While some issue have been addressed, others have not. In our kitchen/family room/dining room, we have numerous walls that are not close to being square and are eyesores. JA Myers comment is there is nothing we can do about this. We even pointed these out during walkthrough, walkback, and numerous monthly inspections. Next, we had a leak in our powder room, JA Myers took 4 attempts to get a plumber out to make a repair. A month or so after the repair, the tube that was supposedly repaired, blew off while we were eating dinner and no water was running and JA Myers says not out problem, call your homeowners for the water damage. Upon further investigation after the failure, the pipe was never correctly installed as there are no bite makes. We have photo evidence of this. Third, we have numerous large cracks in the basement and garage concrete. We informed JA Myers this is not acceptable, they are too large and they don't seem to care. However, the newest homes have saw cuts in the concrete, which is how all of them should have been done. Then we have the driveway. Almost every driveway in the neighborhood is sinking where it meets the garage. This isnt caused by parked car, but is definitely an issue from not compacting the ground, and not rolling the blacktop correctly, because you cannot get a roller into the area of the driveway to garage interface. Next we have the comment of "stone to grade" that JA Myers publishes. Out house does not have stone to grade, they stopped stone a couple rows above the grade and piled up dirt (full of rocks) to hide it. And finally we have the yard grading. Township regulations require no fill over 12", we have dug out a pile of 12"+ rocks. Additionally the yard doesnt drain, water just pools.
