Basement was flooded several years ago. Bracken was hired to waterproof my basement. At that time, a trench and sump pump were installed. This past year, my basement flooded again and Bracken installed a second sump pump under warranty. The issue is the tie in to my downspout that is spraying water onto my driveway. The contractor has been notified several times and had made a few half-hearted corrections. Now that it is freezing out, I have slick, icy surfaces to worry about since it has but been corrected.

On December 8, 2022 I signed a service agreement with Bracken Waterproofing to waterproof my basement. The cost was $6400.00. Now on the initial consult visit December 5th with Chris we had discussed the same details. He stated that they would have to take me basement steps out to work on that area. I said that I expected that as that area was where most of the water came in from. I also stated that when I had my new furnace installed they also had to remove the steps and had put them back in after the furnace was put in place. Nothing more was discussed about the steps. So on the last day they finished up and asked for the final payment. I asked when were they coming back to put my steps back in and was told they don’t put the steps back. That Chris or the company would have to schedule the guys to come back in 30 days to do it. So I gave them the check for the balance. I contacted Chris twice to see when my steps would be reinstalled. Chris left a voice mail that he had family emergency and was out of town. He stated that we had discussed that I would have my handyman put them back in. I don’t have a handyman. Also that his men would bring a brand new extension cord they used and took from my basement. I phoned Chris at the phone number he left and left a voicemail stating I needed my steps put back in and my extension cord back. I said we never discussed me having a handyman or anybody else put the steps back. They took them out and they will put them back in. I never back from Chris. My last communication was a text message stating once again I need my steps back in and since they took them out they will put them back. Also I needed my extension cord replaced. To this day I haven’t heard from Bracken Waterproofing. I finally with the of my son got the steps back in. I have never heard of a company taking your steps out and not putting them back. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and needed access to my basement.

Bracken was hired to waterproof basement and has failed. Was called several times to fix pipe position on sump pump first had it out front going down side walk then they moved it under the porch to where I have oil tanks and was running to neighbors property. Now have contacted then cause they have not waterproofed basement they came out and said it was a bathroom pipe n water heater leak they were correct that the water heater was leaking but water was coming from floor not bathroom pipes also where the had fixed another leak they didn't level cement floor so had to take door off hinges also have taped material to my furnace pipe and this pipe gets up to 500 degrees and was told if you don't want it rip it off. Was told Chris would Call and measure the area that should have been done at start of job a it is now 3 days later n no phone call. Dan the owner becomes very unprofessional when confronted with problems . I only want what was paid for which is a basement that is waterproofed. The crew was very unpressional asking me what they are to do and wiping their dirty hands on my new furnace.
