I placed a deposit for my daughter to have a dental implant placed. I was never explained or told what the payment terms were. My husband took our 17 year old daughter to have her wisdom teeth removed along with the post and bone graph for her dental implant. After our daughter woke from anesthesia she was called over to sign repayment terms. Upon hearing about this the following day (she did not remember what she signed) I called the office and was given lies by each person I spoke with along with cover ups. I was never told that there would be a possibility of a larger balance due either. My 17 year old daughter who is a full time student signed a paper agreeing to pay $413 a month! She is underage and still under anesthesia.

    To Whom It May Concern,

Please know we have no record of any payment plan being arranged or any form on file.  We do not have a document showing arrangements of any kind were made and no payment plan is currently in effect.  We do not have any payment information, acknowledgement forms, financial information, or a signed document stating something was arranged by a minor in our office nor do we have plans set up regarding any unpaid balances.

It should also be mentioned that we have a dedicated team of Insurance Verification Coordinators who specifically work with our patients who require treatment and a team who help set up payment plans with patients needing financial support.  This team provides support to our patients regarding in-network and out-of-network coverage amounts, costs associated to those services, and works with patients providing them both written or verbal information that supports our patients with their financial out-of-pocket expenses.

While we do offer monthly in-house payment plans, ********** financing for as long as 12 months interest free, and pre-payment options to our patients, we do not offer these to patients who are minors or under the influence of any form of sedation.  As mentioned above, we do not have anything on file, or obtain information from patients who are under the influence of anesthesia or who are under the age of 18.

In 08-25-2022, I requested a quote for wisdom tooth removal for my son. Before getting into any services, I requested if there were any charges or copay for a quote. The lady at front desk informed is just a quote. My Family dentist provided them with the panoramic X rays that were required for the quote. Once the evaluation was completed, I requested information on how much the total procedure will cost, they refused to provide any information and that I needed to schedule the appointment for the surgery stating that I needed to speak with my insurance company for pricing. I contacted the insurance and they explained that they should provide at least a base price if there is not insurance inform to give an idea of how much it will cost because insurance coverage varies per contract. I cancelled the appointment with this Oral surgeon's company. I just received a bill from this company after them submitting services to my insurance company clamming, I have a balance of $30 for the visit. I kindly requested the removal of that charge; they were adamant about it.

    Hi,

Please note this patients balance is regarding a copayment that is due per the patients ******* Health Insurance Policy.  The patient was seen on 08/25/2022 for a consultation and an x-ray in the office, they met with our office for the examination to see if their wisdom teeth needed to be removed.  The charges out to their insurance were codes ***** (Office Visit Exam) and ***** Panoramic X-ray.  It is important to mention that often times patients will report to the office with a print out, or copy of an x-ray may be sent to us from the patients dental provider.  It is very important for our surgeons, as the treating doctors to take an x-ray internally.  Regardless, the $30.00 amount due is not due to us taking an x-ray.  The patient balance is due to the patient having ****** Medical insurance and their card stating they owe a $30.00 copay when seeing a Specialist.

Insurance has paid $71.48 for the Consult and X-ray, $385.52 was written off due to us partipating with ***** Medical and being contracted with them, meaning we will be paid what our contracted rate is.  It should also be mentioned that due to this contract $30.00 copayments must be collected per the patients medical insurance.

    ************************* -Provider

*See attached Explanation of Benefits from Aetna showing $30.00 is due and the copy of the insurance card showing $30.00 is the copayment for seeing specialists.
