I contracted Jeffers & Leek Electric, Inc. to install light fixtures in my home. Justin E****, a Residential Manager, conducted a video appointment with me on 6/20 at 2PM, to view where the light fixtures would be installed and discuss what needs to be done. Later that day, he sent over the quote for the project, indicating that a deposit of 30% ($296.40) is required to be put on the schedule. On 6/28, I accepted the quote and I was given a date of July 5th, with an estimated arrival time of 8:00-8:30AM. Keith, from Jeffers & Leek arrived over an hour late for the appointment and Justin arrived shortly after. Justin proceeded to tell me that he had underestimated the job and that it would take them more than 1 day to complete the job and that additional equipment is needed (the job entailed installing 2 sconces, 2 chandeliers in 2 dining rooms, 2 chandeliers in a great room and 1 chandelier in an entry way). Justin said that he needs to go to another job, but Keith would stay to complete as much as he can on the 5th, and then they will come back. Around 2:30, after installing only 2 scones, Keith informed me that he needs to leave because he needs another person to help him install the remaining fixtures. He said he will leave the boxes and all the tables moved so that he can continue the work when he comes back. At that time when I asked what time I should expect them on the following day (the 6th) to complete the job, Keith said he wasn't sure and that Justin will call me to tell me when I should expect them. I immediately called Justin and asked when I should expect them next, and he said he will call me back. From the 5th until today, July 12th, I have called Justin multiple times, emailed him and texted him, and the only response I have gotten was a text on Monday, 7/11 at 9:06AM that he will call me right back, in response to a missed call from me. I have gotten no other responses from him. All I want is that they complete the job as promised/contracted, ASAP.

This is Justin, the residential manager with Jeffers and Leek Electric. We accepted the job at the estimate rate given the information that was provided during the estimate/ video conference. When we arrived on site, the job was much more intensive and time consuming than we anticipated because the fixtures were not as described. The homeowner is responsible for giving the proper specifications of the light fixtures as the fixtures were provided by the homeowner. Due to this discrepancy we're unable to finish the job at the quoted price.  The light fixtures quoted at the time of the estimate were for 4 chandeliers 15 pounds or less, and the main foyer chandelier with a weight of 15-50 lbs. Upon arrival to do the job, it was clear the lights were over the weight that was quoted. This is a safety and NEC (national electrical code) concern. Before leaving the job, I explained to the homeowner how we were unable to do the job as it wasn't how it was quoted. Additional material would be needed to support the weight of the fixtures, and scaffolding would need to be installed to be able to hang the 4 tier chandelier in the foyer. I again asked the homeowner for specs regarding the light fixtures he wished to be installed, specially the weight of all the fixtures. The only information that was given was the website(as per the text) on which the lights were purchased from. I then took the time to reach out to the company. After many phone calls, I was told that one of the engineers would reach out to me with the weight specs of these fixtures. I never got that phone call, or any information on the light fixtures. After my last phone conversation with the homeowner after this complaint was filed, I then told him again that I need the weight of the fixtures. The homeowner then told me that I could assume the weight was etc etc. I told him I can't assume anything and need in writing the weight of the fixtures. Later that evening I got a text message staying the following " -entry way 210lbs, -great room - 80lbs (x2 chandeliers) -dining room -45lbs". This information now given is not what was told at the time of the estimate, and is not what was originally quoted for. We have refunded the deposit and will not be moving forward with the job. Please note the full amount has been refunded despite some work being completed.
