Badly managed. Knowing the popularity of the 2024 Solar Eclipse we made reservations at The Loft Hotel in Montreal more than a year ahead of the event. SoSuite took over management of the property and with no notification cancelled the reservations. We only found out when we stayed at the Hotel recently and happened to ask for information about our upcoming reservation at the front desk. The manager tried at first to say that not informing me about the cancellation was an oversight. The company planned on cancelling all reservations due to upcoming construction but then changed the story when I mentioned that our friends, who made reservations at the same time we did, were never informed either. Then she told us that SoSuite decided it would cost too much to cancel all of the existing reservations and would instead move reservations around depending on which floors were completed. When I reached out to SoSuites thru their website they gave me the runaround stating they would get upper management to look into the issue. Days passed and when I reached out again I was curtly informed thru "chat" to speak to hotel staff again. Upper management never responded. The hotel staff were unable to do anything and complained about SoSuite upper management not being communicative or helpful. They could only inform me that our reservations were cancelled but that other reservations were still being honored. Sad that a hotel that is well located, has friendly staff, and is affordable, has been taken over by an unresponsive and uncaring short term rental company. So very disappointed that our trip has now been cancelled due to this issue. I am not going to start on how my September reservation was not handled well by SoSuite either. Thankfully the local manager is good.
