I visit this store often. Signs are posted stating reduced prices for special colored tags. (This one was Black 50% off- see photo). I find items with these tags and go to purchase. At cash register I am told I can only get the DISCOUNT if I am a member with Goodwill, i.e. they want my information. I usually leave the store. Nowhere on these small individual signs posted all over the store is it posted. I feel cheated, false advertising in order to get my information. Please have these people defer the current policy. Very Frustrating.

    Business response

    01/22/2023

Please accept this email as our formal response to the BBB Complaint ID ******** that we received in the mail at our Phoenixville Goodwill Store at *** **** ****, Phoenixville, PA.  Letter that I received on Monday is attached.

At the front customer entrance of each of our stores is a three-tier sign and the top poster discloses our Customer Reward program and related discounting.  This sign stands 93” tall and each of the posters measures 22” by 28’”.  The poster in the top tier is shown in the photo below. The poster is changed weekly to reflect the color being discounted.

The only information that is required from a customer to sign up for our Rewards program is their name; however we do ask for a phone number because it is a convenient way to look up a customer in the POS point-of-sale system. Customers are asked if they wish to share their mailing address and email address but neither is required.  We do not sell or share any customer information to anyone.

Some consumers may elect to not publish the details of their complaints, some complaints may not meet BBB's standards for publication, or BBB may display a portion of complaints when a high volume is received for a particular business.
