I purchased a car from the owner of this garage. I was told it had been just inspected, had new o2 sensors, been detailed, has everything up to date. Within six days the check engine light went on. I called the owner, he was surprised but said bring it in. I do not live close to this business. So the O2 sensors need to be replaced. He had said he replaced them but didn't know where the warranty was. I felt bad. So I offered to split the cost. Well threw weeks go by and the engine light went on again. I was Leary to call **** and took it to the ********** It needed an oil change immediately. Then the manager came out and told me this car is unsafe to drive. I was surprised. The brakes are so bad. I was told this car should not had passed inspection. They gave me a price. Brakes has to be ordered. I made another appointment the next day. The next day the technician said we can go over the whole car for $10. I said ok great. Well it needs front and back brakes. Plus long list. I reached out to ****. He was just saying he was surprised, actually this was via text. I sent him a text saying how frustrating this was. I told him I only bought this car because my best friend knew him for 30 years. She is my witness to him saying you won't need anything for a year.

    Good afternoon,
I am the person who sold the Lexus to the person who wrote this complaint. I took ownership of the vehicle from one of my customers after they had the vehicle towed into my shop for a motor problem, only to find out the timing went in the motor. I purchased a used motor for the vehicle and replaced it at my shop. We did what was needed for the motor to run and addressed all of the inspection items on the vehicle. I have receipts for all parts purchased for the vehicle and the parts were all installed here at my shop, along with a fresh oil change before it was sold. I did install new O2 sensors before I sold the vehicle, that were purchased online. One of them did fail, but because they were purchased online, I couldn't replace under warranty as the O2 sensor would have had to be sent back to the seller in order for it to be replaced. I offered to replace the O2 sensor at no cost and the purchaser was insistent she split the cost for the part. The vehicle was professionally detailed before selling as well, I also drove the vehicle for a few weeks before I put it up for sale to ensure it was in good running order. I did sell the vehicle to the person who made this complaint and was open and honest with her about everything I knew about the vehicle. I did say to her that I couldn't see the vehicle needing anything for a year as it was just gone over and driven before sold.
I have worked on this vehicle before I was the owner, so I also have invoices of repairs that were performed in the past. The vehicle was sold As Is and was properly noted in the original write up for the sale of the vehicle. The person who made this complaint reached out to me about the vehicle via text starting on April 30th at 2:12pm saying that the vehicle shouldn't have passed inspection and that I ripped her off. She then sent me pictures of a work order for the vehicle from another repair shop that has estimates for the front brakes and rotors. There was also recommended work that they suggested be done due to the mileage on the vehicle, but that was just a recommendation as most shops would do. She purchased the vehicle for $5,000.00 from me originally, then demanded I send her $2,000.00 back and that the vehicle was only worth $3,000.00 or she was going to file this complaint. I then told her that she could do what she felt was necessary.
If she would have called me or text about the problem she was having, I would have addressed it for her. Unforeseen things happen to cars everyday, but I would have stood by what I sold IF I knew about them.  She however went to another shop to have it looked at, they told her what they thought needed to be repaired and from there on the text messages started. We are an honest repair shop with Certified, Qualified repair technicians. The vehicle was not sold dishonestly or to take advantage of someone, especially not sold unsafe.
Attached are all the receipts purchased for the vehicle before being inspected and then sold, and I have all of the text messages saved in my phone. If needed I can provide them as well.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you mAs ust give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
II am rejecting this response due to the fact he stated the car was just inspected but yet my brakes were not safe to drive this vehicle. Brakes are part of inspection under Pa inspection, correct? To respond to the fact I insisted to split the cost, I was at his shop, hearing his staff and himself state well I guess I have to honor this and he couldn't find the warranty to O2 sensor. When you have a state license to provide a service, be a reasonable and responsible owner and respect that license. Which is my next step of my complaint. I made one text message request for return of part of the sale, he denied that. I was not going to argue with someone who stated my brakes were safe , obviously not. ********* is aware of this matter, stated they are happy to help this vehicle had no way passed for brakes. The ********* is on **** ****** in Norristown. All of this happened within 7 days of me purchasing this vehicle. Causing me to see red flags of a dishonest business owner. Why would I want him to continue to tell me bs about this car when it has puddy holding the fuel system together. Never told me that. Stating again, will not need anything in a year, which there is a witness to him saying. And he clearly admitted his statement.

    Regards,
