My tractor worked fine, but I figured it most likely needed a basic tuneup after a while so I made an appointment for basic service at Konopinski's. I figured it couldn't need much since it worked perfectly, and I even replaced the battery a few days before they picked it up. A few days after they picked my tractor up, I was called and aggressively quoted over $600 in repairs, with very little explanation of anything, and was expected to make a decision on the spot after I told him I was driving down a highway on my way out of town. I had a bad feeling after ending the call, so I waited a few days before calling and just asking Konpinski's to do a very basic tune up and release my tractor back to me. After 8 days, I received my tractor. The total bill was around $350 for a tuneup and a few parts. It was hard to swallow but I took responsibility for the decision and figured I would move on with life. However, the mower broke down during the first cut. In a way, I expected this to happen as I didn't believe it was serviced correctly out of spite since I denied the initial exorbitant repair bill. After all, why would someone who was obviously angry I denied their excessive repair bill put much care in to working on my machine? I called Kononpinski's and spoke with an expected very rude and hostile Brian Konopinski who threw a child like tantrum and basically said "I told you so". Later that day I was able to fix the issue and proceed, until a few days later, on the second cut, when suddenly the mower just completely stopped working altogether. You would think after a tune up and $300+ in repairs the mower should run better than it did before taking it there, but instead it broke pretty much instantly after getting it back. I would be happy with a partial refund.

We originally called the customer with an estimate on his repair. His tractor needed a normal service (engine oil and filter, spark plug, fuel filter and air filter), needed 1 new blade, transmission and deck belts and spindle bearings. Valve cover was leaking and also needed to be greased and completely gone over. The estimate was around $675.00. When we called customer with the estimate he stated he was too busy and could not be bothered at that time and hung up on Brian. He called back again about a week or so later when he finally had time to go over the estimate. We went over it with him in detail. He declined any replacement of either belts, did not want spindle bearings replaced and did not want the leaky valve cover repaired. This was the first time we have ever worked on this machine. The tractor had 178.1 hours on it. We only did the exact repairs that the customer requested. He was told this repair had no warranty whatsoever as he declined replacing parts that needed to be replaced. All of this is clearly written on the invoice that the customer received upon delivery of his tractor, which is attached. We delivered the tractor back to the customer. The customers grass was 8-10" high at this point. A couple hours later we received a phone call from the customer flipping out on us that he went to cut his grass and after a few minutes the tractor would not move, meaning go forward or reverse. We told the customer that we assume the trans belt had broken, which we originally told him that it needed to be replaced. We did tell the customer that we would come back and pick up the machine and if it was something that we had done it would be no charge, however if it was the belt that needed to be replaced he would be charged. He did not want to hear that and screamed at us on the phone and said we have been nothing but a nightmare to deal with apparently because we called him with the estimate while he was on his way to vacation and was bothering him. Customer emailed us stating he was contacting the PA Atty General. I told him to go ahead and do what he needs to do as we told him the repairs that the tractor needed and he declined those repairs and all of this was documented on the invoice that he received. Customer stated he did not want us to pick up his tractor. I told him thank you and have a nice day. We are not liable for any of this. Customer was clearly told what the estimate to repair the machine was and what needed to be replaced and he declined having the parts replaced.

I am not going to argue back and forth with this customer. I attached the invoice previously. This clearly stated that the customer declined the repairs that were needed to be done on this tractor. The customer is just unreasonable. Customer only paid for work that was done to the tractor and nothing more. We do not owe this customer anything.
