I purchased a new vehicle at Triangle Honda, Rio Piedras, PR. I was not allowed to keep the **** sheet that comes with the car.I was told that the government of *********** were requiring them and therefore could not be given the original buyer.I believe this is a bad business practice that conflicts with the federal mandate to protect consumers when buying a new vehicle. This practice negates consumers the protection of having a document that indicates that you got all the equipment that you payed for. The local government should not intervened to invalidate federal mandates which are designed to protect new car buyers.

    Dear Sirs / Ma'am

As the clients comment acknowledges, at the time of delivery to the actual custody and possession of the vehicle, all three required labels were affixed to the vehicle. That is the (1) Monroney label, (2) ************* of the Treasury MSRP and import tax label and (3) final price label required by the ************* of ******** Affairs.

The client may photograph said labels or request copies but may not retain the original labels as these must, as a matter of compliance, be retained for audit and/or submittal to the ********************** after the sale.

The customers complaint seems to be with the regulatory requirements of the **********************, which we must obviously comply with. If the customer wishes, as suggested in his complaint, to obtain a breakdown of the vehicles features standard and/or optional features,he may pass by the dealership to obtain a copy thereof.

The only sticker affixed to the vehicle was the one listing the car accessories and fuel economy estimate.  The Monroney label as described in the dealership reply.

The car did not have the **** or any breakdown on required local taxes by Hacienda (*********** Tax Revenue Dept)

This information or labels were not present and when I asked, the sale rep simply said that they were not available.  He mentioned that Hacienda was requiring them.

The dealership reply indicates that they can provide copies if needed.  Which suggests that they are being retained at the dealership as  evidence for Hacienda, but buyers are not allowed to even view them.

The dealer response suggests that perhaps my complaint is directed to local Hacienda car tax procedures.

Of course, that is part of my complaint.  Business practices should not be detrimental to customers in order to comply with local tax requirements.

Business practices and or state or local tax procedures should not contradict or circumvent a Federal mandate designed to protect new car buyers.  That is the basis for my complaint.

As a result of this inquiry I would like the dealership to provide me with all information regarding to the vehicle that I purchased, to include the **** label and local taxes paid to Hacienda on the unit.

I appreciate the dealership response and the time taken to address my concerns.

The dealership response indicates that three stickers were on the vehicle at the time of purchase. But that is not what me and my wife personally witnessed when buying the car.
