Today's job market is not the same as it was 10, 20, 30 years ago, esp. if you are a senior level person. Like others, I have transitioned several times in my career, some because of RIFs, some because it was time to move on, but I always had my next position (usually more senior) in a very short time (always before the severance or vacation time was exhausted. Thus, I was expecting the same when I was let go from my prior company. After 5 months of working my network and having some success, I decided to get some help with Browning. They, especially my project manager, *****, were tremendous. They turned a potential devasting 14 months and early retirement (which I was not ready for) into a very positive and effective period of my life. Their coaching in all areas, their job AND emotional support, their network and tweaking my ability to work mine, and their ability to listen when needed were tremendous. While my new job came through my network, I cannot emphasize the positive impact and help that they were during the process. My thanks to them, and again, especially *****!

I know myself very well: my strengths, areas for improvement, what motivates me, what distracts me, my hobbies, etc. I am also experienced enough to understand that surrounding myself with people who possess skills I lack can significantly enhance my personal and professional *********** in point: I lost my high-paying executive job due to the pandemic. I felt confident that I would land on my feet within a few months because of my previous position and title at a well-known global company. However, by the fourth month, my confidence waned as concern set in; the only feedback I was receiving was, 'You're overqualified.' Still, I was determined...By the sixth month, I had to dip into our savings account to sustain our family. I was losing sleep, I could feel my blood pressure rising, and the 'no-hiring' holiday season was just around the ********* tolerant and supportive wife suggested that I contact, '...one of those companies that helps you get a job.'That's all it took. I was not defeated. Rather, I needed to surround myself with people skilled in business coaching, rsum writing, networking, interview preparation, confidence building (yes, I needed it!), and strategies for staying relevant despite having a gap in my rsum. In other words, I needed to surround myself with people who possessed skills I did not.Let me reiterate one of these skills: networking. I was introduced to like-minded individuals as well as polar opposites, and I gleaned something from everyone! Many of them introduced me to others who wanted to meet me, and the connections kept growing. I reciprocated as well.Bottom line: the sum was much greater than the parts. ***** *. and his team coached me through every step of the process, introduced me to amazing people whom I now call friends, and most importantly, all of these efforts culminated in a fantastic job offer at a great company. It's my pleasure to recommend the team at Browning Associates as a key contributor to a career journey. After applying for jobs online, talking with recruiters if they called, and hoping that a new job somehow would materialize, we decided to work with Browning in the spirit of doing something different to achieve something different.
