Basically to sum it up this guy has my car and has changed up his answer a thousand times. I got into my wreck on oct 17,2023 and since the beginning he has changed (the shop owner) what he said. it started with "i can get started on it right away" which was surprising so i asked if he needed a payment he once again said no. Since the beginning we have told him i just needed it for work and i just need it road legal . He summed it up to 8,000 for a kia **** 2021 and when we asked him to take off the paint and body work it only went down to 6,000 every time i talk to this man he is looking in the sky like his is contemplating something. when i finally decided to get it taken somewhere else i asked him what we owed him and he said 384 for the towing. but today on august 8th he has told us we owe him 1,000 and i feel the only reason he has raised it is because we are not getting it fixed with him. He specifically told me and my husband i only owe him the towing fee and that's where he tops off. i just want to pay him the fee and tow my own car. we went by there to see it and if he's not "fixing" my car he shouldn't have ripped the other headlight out or pushed my seat all the way back and smoked in my car. I haven't payed him yet because of all the mix ups we've had and when we asked if he takes payments for the 6,000 he said he doesn't know and only deals with insurance checks so I'm almost certain he just wants money. None of this is in writing my car was brought to him right after my wreck. In the picture you can see one of my headlights still, currently both have been taken out. I do not want to get it fixed with him and ONLY want to pay him what HE said i owe him

The beginning  For the thousand time answer  I have probably had a conversation with ***** 4 total times in a Year .Vehicle was towed off Highway patrol rotation call which has a standard fee and storage charge with extra operations .Extra operations were due to the Cleanup on the side of the road and the fact the customer took the keys and made it difficult to tow. Upon meeting the customer the Vehicle was deemed to be fixable and a Teardown and Inspection of  Damage was done and an estimate written. It was Discovered the Vehicle had No Insurance and Customer would have to fix out of Pocket .Estimate came to around $8000 Customer asked could we just get it Roadworthy Cheapest way out ,Estimate came to around $6000 Vehicle needs a complete front clip including all cooling. I did Hesitate on Half fixing the Damage As well I didn't feel the Customer Had means to Pay for the Repairs I decided it was not in my best interest to invest in Parts to Repair.  I offered to move the Vehicle to the Customers house for a Fixed Price .after that it was several months before I heard back from Customer I told Customer I would need a deposit and was told they would get back to me. Again I didn't hear back for a Period of Time . Charges to date are for Towing , Time Invested in this Vehicle and Storage that is (Heavily) Discounted  If this Vehicle was at an other Company It would not be the Customers any longer . Paperwork is Attached.I feel the amount due is Very Reasonable and Customer will have to make a move in the next Thirty Days .

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the initial quoted towing fee was $382. If possible, can the price be lowered or be broken down into 2 payments so we can have the car towed from this location?

    Sincerely,

    ******** *****
