Mr. ******** called our business requesting an estimate to bore and hone an engine block and assemble with a kit that he purchased elsewhere.  He called multiple times getting the same response before he brought in his engine block.  We don't give written quotes due to the fact that until we have the block/engine, and perform an inspection, we are not sure what the charges will be which is why we stress, it is an ESTIMATE but can't be exact on pricing until we know for sure what all has to be done.  Mr. ******** brought in a short block with one head still on it, which had to be disassembled which is an additional fee.  We performed the machine work then saw that the flexplate that was included in Mr. ********'s kit would not fit.  We called to inform him of the issue and told him that we can use the old flexplate but we would have to rebalance the crank which cost $375.  Mr. ******** approved the work.  We completed the job but before we got the invoice in our system, Mr. ******** called and we told him we were finished and was working on the invoice, he asked for a final price and we told him we would call him within an hour with the final price.  Once the invoice was complete, our clerk called to tell Mr. ******** and he began cursing and raising his voice that he was not quoted that amount and would not pay it.  The Clerk put him on hold and got me and another employee in the office, she then told him that we were in the office on speaker so that we could answer any questions he had.  He didn't want to ask questions, he just continued to holler and curse that he was not going to pay that price, he was only going to pay the estimated cost of what he was told on the phone prior to bringing his block in.  We explained that when he hired us and asked us to do more than what was estimated, the price went up just as any business would do.  He told us that he was coming to get his stuff and not pay one cent more than estimated and threatened that we better have an army with us to stop him.  Once the call ended, we called the Sheriff's office and they instructed us to call 911 if the customer showed up at our business.  Mr. ******** arrived a few minutes later with another person and sat in the parking lot for approximately 15 minutes which allowed us time to call 911 and ask for someone to be on our premises to make sure nothing got out of control due to the threat that was made.  Once Mr. ******** entered our business slinging the door open, he began calling us scumbags and scam artist while doing something on his phone.  The police officer told him to watch his language, get off his phone and finish the business transaction.  Mr. ******** called the credit card company to activate his card to pay.  We showed him the sign we have posted that we charge a 5% transaction fee for cards.  He said he didn't care.  We showed him the invoice and tried to explain the charges, he said just charge it.  We did, he signed the invoice as well as the credit card receipt.  He then went around to the back for us to load him up.  The police followed us to the back door.  Mr. ******** told us that he was going to dispute the charges, get signs to picket, protest, hang fliers and report us in efforts to shut down our business.
