I was in an auto accident on October 28 of last year. I was not the at fault driver and it was a hit and run. I went to this body shop and they told me they could get me in within the month. They did not but come the beginning of January they got my car in. For the first month it sat on the lot. Then my car sat on the lot for almost 2 months with no work done to it. I had an attorney friend call the owner with no return phone call. I have also text the owner with no return text. When he finally called me back, he stated that the work on the car started, and that it should be complete that week. It was not complete that week and then the following week he said it should be in the paint shop but it has not been to the paint shop. He also claimed it was the insurance company‘s fault for the hold up because they wanted to use used parts on my car. I told him not to worry about the old part to go ahead and order the new part. I would pay the difference. He ordered it and told me that it came in. This was three weeks ago. My attorney friend spoke to the owner today, and he stated to her that the reason the vehicle is not complete is because of the Democrats. The Democrats are paying people to stay home. Its going on 3 months now and I keep getting the run around. Again, For almost 2 months my car sat on the lot with no work. I am having to pay out of pocket for a rental bcuz insurance already paid their portion. This is unacceptable and all I want is my vehicle to be complete. We get the run around, lies that it will be in paint shop but as of today the car is not finished and its because of the democrats. I need some help. Thank you!

Customer's date of loss was 10/28/2022.  She came by the shop on 11/1/2022 looking to have her vehicle repaired.  We told her that we were a month or two out.  Customer called multiple times requesting to drop her vehicle off.  This customer's vehicle was dropped off for repairs on January 10, 2023.  Once the vehicle was here it was then torn down and inspected for any additional damages that were missed on the insurance company's original estimate for repairs.  On January 18, the additional damages that had been identified were submitted to the insurance company for review.  The insurance company had originally written the estimate for the quarter panel to be repaired and upon review of the supplement agreed that the quarter panel should be replaced.  They wrote for it to be replaced with a used quarter panel.  On February 6, 2023 we had a glass company come out to remove the glass from the quarter panel so the repairs to the quarter could proceed.  After speaking with the customer about the used quarter panel, she agreed to pay the difference to have the repairs completed with a new quarter panel. Once she approved the use of a new quarter panel, the new panel was ordered and the old panel was removed.  After the new panel was received, work to install the panel began.  On March 24 we received a correspondence from the customer's lawyer requesting that the vehicle be released and all payments received from the insurance company to be returned.  While the customer may choose to pull her vehicle from our shop and take to another shop at any time, she will be responsible for all repairs and parts purchased up to this point.  At no point has the vehicle sat for a month or more without any work being done.  Vehicle is currently in the paint shop, with some parts having been painted and the remainder in primer and ready for paint.  Currently, other collision shops in our area are stating that they are 2 months or more out before they can take in any new customers.  We do not make any promises for completion dates because there are too many variables that can affect a completion date.
