    On July 12, 2022 @ 11;44 AM I Thomas ****** called Gary @ the Deadwood KOA campground and was able to make a reservation for the Sturgis Motor Cycle rally in Deadwood. The price for three nights was going to be aprox $****** with $****** given to gary on my credit card to hold the spot until August 9th-12th. On July 27th I called Gary to cancel because my Daughter and Grandchilderen are coming into town from ******** and I hardly get to see them. My Daughter was able to take her vacation at that time only. I looked at the KOA campground cancelation policy and it says to let them know at least seven days prior to the scheduled date of which I am to show up. I called Gary on July 27, and again on August 1st 2022 on 8/1/22 I left a message, and He never returned my call. on July 27, 2022 I talked to Gary and let him know that I needed to cancel and told him why. He told me that he wasnt going to return my *********** dollars because he said that there are different rules for the bike rally that I was never told about. I told him that ******************************************* he had never told me about the new rules.. He also said that He would think about it and call me back. I am still waiting for a call back. I refunded his $** to his credit card and only charged him the $** cancellation fee that he thought he should have been charged. I also explained to him that there are different cancellation policies for special events (Sturgis Bike Rally). I assumed that he understood this no refund policy after a certain date (June 28, 2022) due to emails and previous discussions. In the future he stated he would be aware of this policy. Thomas asked that this matter be closed. I would ask the same as he has received what he asked for. Thanks for your consideration. Yes I talked to Gary on August 15, 2022 and he did agreee to refund the total amount of the deposite. I also reminded him that I went by the cancelation policy that I was able to see which was a 7 day notice. I was un-aware of any special event cancelation policy and suggusted to him that in the future it might be a good idea to make that policy more transparent. He agreed. I want to thank you for your prompt and great service. Its nice to know that as a consumer we have a avenue to challenge these businesses. Thanks Its ok to remove my initial complaint.
