We got a window quote from their salesman, *****, in March 2022. He was knowledgeable, thorough, & openly discussed the pros/cons of options. His honesty, professionalism, & lack of sales pressure gave us comfort for a $10K job. Upon ordering (60% down), he said supply issues averaged 3-4 months. Communication was sparse & delays drove our timeline into the fall, but by then, we'd unexpectedly moved across town & contracted to sell the house. Just before planning to cancel, they said our order was ready & ****** prioritized it due to the sale - finishing on closing week (with buyer's blessing). Inspection noted one window was an incorrect style. ****** admitted to errantly ordering & refunded the cost difference since the new owner was happy. Our new house's windows/doors were worse, so we asked ***** for another quote after a mostly-positive experience. He gave a repeat client discount plus another for 100% down. We paid for a $20K order on 30 Dec 22 expecting late-spring production & I deployed shortly after. Getting updates is like pulling teeth: IF anyone answers calls, no one knows or follows up. Upon return in March, I had one January voicemail saying our order was rejected. I called ***** to find he hadn't followed up & I had to act as middle-man with the factory to learn Midwest ordered incorrectly & found/gave him the data needed to fix it. By August, they said our windows were almost done (two on material back-order). In October, they scheduled a November install. I took off work, but they were a no-show (later blaming job overruns). We rescheduled for my next opening in December. On arrival, I noted all hardware/screens are the wrong style & mid-install, **** said two windows & both doors were never ordered. Install extended a week due to Dallas' incorrect measurements. Three times, **** said ****** would come/call to rectify, but he's yet to contact me. I later noted air leaks form interior ice & kill our heat bill. Midwest hasn't returned any calls.

Thank you for the update.  As noted earlier: I spoke with the office manager two weeks ago (5 Feb), and she was aware of this complaint and had already notified the owner before I arrived to the office.  She said he planned to call me to discuss a way forward; however, he has made no such attempt.

I gave Midwest home improvement a large deposit to put a sunroom on my house two years ago this March. They completely blew me off every time I called and when I did finally get a hold of him, he told me he just ordered the windows that week, which was a year and a half after I gave him the money. I asked him to show me the invoice that he ordered the windows and he couldn’t. I told him I wanted to refund and he told me he didn’t have the money. After that, he ghosted me on everything, then I start finding out about all the other people that he has screwed out of their money. Beware of this contractor.

We had windows installed in April 2019, and ever since we have had problems "with the best windows in the industry (with a lifetime guarantee and efficiency)." From locks breaking, to where you can see through the corner of the window to the outside, to wind coming through the windows. I have been in regular contact with **** and his team to get a resolution to our drafty energy efficient windows, I understand windows won't keep out all the chill, however when my office drops to 50 and the heater is set to 70 there is something wrong. The time between contact and action is typically over six months of me hounding for action. In between all this back and forth, the window manufacture and Midwest aren't on speaking terms, not my problem as a consumer, I signed a contract with Midwest I shouldn't have to play middle man for my crappy windows to be fixed. I should be able to make one call to the contractor and it should be resolved. Most recently **** again came out to the house in April/May 2023, I got to hear about the saga between the window person and him once again. He said he would find a fix, I asked him not to forget about me as I felt has been done in the past and that was the last time I saw the whites of his eyes. He called 5/31 said he would be here 6/6, never showed, called and voicemail full. He had a death in the family he was going to get with another guy and get a hold of me. I emailed July 31, Sept 5, and Oct 17 as the blinds inside my house were swaying with the wind. Do not sign a contract with this company. Communication will not occur and you will be stuck with the problem to have to have someone else redo the work.

I hired this company to install a 4 seasons sun room. Dallas met with me gave me a quote and stole $****** from me. He needed a check for 1/2 pmt in order to order the materials. Several months went by and still no sunroom or production. I wrote him a check in Feb. In Oct, when there was still not so much as a date set to put in the sun room i asked him for a refund which he said he would give me. I am still waiting on this. I did file a small claims suit against him. ** ***** ***** * *** **** **** ** ****** ***** ** ***** ** ********** **** ** * ******** ***** **** **** ******** Make sure you do your research before hiring this company...

Shohn is a very nice person and I understand her frustration but she has forgot out some of the facts as it has been a long time when I went to get the Building permit.  They informed me her property was in the flood plan and we could not build the room. I went back and told her.  She was very upset as she was never informed of this when she purchased the house. I started the process of getting the change done so we could build and with the cooperation of ********* ********.  We started working on the lengthy processes it was HUD that we had to get the change through, but after weeks of pictures and paper work we got it approved.  I did not order any product till we knew we had that approval.  So then I ordered windows, door and trusses at that time back then windows were taking 5 to 8 months to get in.  After all this time I was ready.  I went up and set down with Shohn and told her we were ready to start. She said she wanted to talk to me about that and that she was thinking of selling the house and moving to ********* and I did tell her I would get her money back but I needed a little time to try and sell the window and door as the window were custom sized.  It took quite a while but did get the windows sold. I still have the  trusses.  But to make a long story short I am going to pay Shohn back and I wish her the very best.

On 5-2-22 I contracted Dallas *** to side my house and wrote him a check for $****. On 5-4-22 Dallas asked for another $**** for increase cost of materials to cover **% of the job. I again wrote him another check for $****. Dallas was quick to cash both checks ($****), and difficult to get in touch with after. The few times Dallas would return calls seeking a date for completion he advised he had trouble finding a match for the siding. After many messages left to contact me again, he reached out in August and said my house would be done early October. October came and went and we haven't heard back from Dallas since August 2022. In early November spoke with his office assistant and she advised no siding was purchased yet and wanted to come by my house to try to match it again. He never showed! I called again and I advised I no longer wish to do business with them and kindly asked for a return of my deposit. She said he would get back to me to discuss it. I and my wife have literally called daily since November 5th and were sent to voicemail every time with no reply or response to our demand for a refund of the deposit. I just want my deposit back in full so I can find a reputable company to do the job. I am seeking civil as well as criminal action options and will pursue them both if this isn't rectified immediately!

In May 2022 we requested a meeting to discuss new windows from an employee named Paul from Midwest Home Improvements *****************. Paul completed a quick measurement of our windows (12 in all) showed us his window sample and provided a quote. We accepted the quote and made the down payment of $*****. A crew came out the next day and did an exact measurement of all the windows being replaced. Paul informed us the windows would be here and installed by August or September. And that is the last time we've had any contact from Paul. We call his cell phone and our number is blocked. We call the office and leave messages and no one returns our call. We'd like our money back as apparently this isn't a reputable company. However we did speak with a couple who gave them glowing reviews, which is why we chose them in the first place. I think it's highly suspicious if they won't even work with us for a resolution to this issue.
