Not as Advertised. Squealing train almost every hour. Claim pet friendly with additional fee of $35 on top of $70 cleaning but still charged me an extra fee because when they swept their was hair, dust and lint on the floor. But their dryer was covered in lint. So what is a cleaning fee for anyway? I will never stay again!Wauhatchie Woodlands, LLC Response

We appreciate that we cannot please everyone, and there are those put off by the proximity to trains, however, we repeat this warning up front in the listing before booking and in the planning/guest information. We have been operating to the highest standards for many years now, and with over 4,000 customer reviews on ****** we have maintained an aggregate rating of 4.91 of five stars. The cleaning fee is disclosed up front, so there can be no misleading, and charged at the time of booking. We also have a clearly stated pet policy in the documents you received. There simply was no misleading. WE are very sorry you were not happy with your stay. We do take pains to deliver the best to each guest and our reviews reflect this commitment, however, we also understand we cannot please everyone, and though we cannot change the location of the city or the train, thus we disclose up front, and our fees are clearly stated, if the standards of cleanliness were not met, please provide proof and we will partially refund the cleaning fee.Customer Response

I have read all your reviews and when people complain you never admit fault or even include that a customer had a legitimate complaint. The actual pillows in our cabin were obviously not clean but you covered with a pillow case anyway. The dust and lint on the bedroom floor was not from me, I only stayed two nights. My dog sheds because that's what dogs do. He is a Great Dane so his hair is on me and I sat on the couch not him. And in case you do not know. Great Danes shed a lot as do many other breeds. Which is why I asked the booking person if a Great Dane was ok? My Dog was never in the bedroom so the picture you sent of dust and lint was not dog hair and not from us. No where in your rules does it state that I am required to sweep and clean the entire cabin dust and lint free before exiting. That is what a cleaning fee is for. The dryer lint filter was full and accumulated on the outside vent prior to my use. Obviously it was not thoroughly swept or cleaned prior to my stay or the bundle of lint and dust would not have been accumulated at such a high rate. And also Hot tub jets do not work. And at no point in reading your literature prior to renting does it state a squealing train in your brochure. But after I pay you I get the information. And I don't appreciate your usage of terms such as trailer trash in a previous review. You purchased a piece of land with trailers on it of folks who were down trodden and of low income. You were blessed to scoop it up. But Unfortunately that is what we have come to expect when outsiders move into the South and pretend to provide and uphold the term "Southern Hospitality"!Wauhatchie Woodlands, LLC Response

I am afraid the guest's following statement demonstrate false assumptions to the extent that their entire testimony is significantly contrived. They were angry that we charge pet fees and apply rules is the bottom line. We can hold guests to standards and yes, this ticks some off, and we can let it all go and take the hit and let folks walk over us which is not sustainable. The guest states: " And I don't appreciate your usage of terms such as trailer trash in a previous review. You purchased a piece of land with trailers on it of folks who were down trodden and of low income. You were blessed to scoop it up. But Unfortunately that is what we have come to expect when outsiders move into the South and pretend to provide and uphold the term "Southern Hospitality"!" To begin, I did not use the term Trailer Trash. There was A-LOT of trash because it was a very run down trailer park, but I have never referred to anyone as trash. Secondly, I am Chattanooga born and bred. I am not an out of town investor. Third, the land Wauhatchie sits on was owned by my family and we lived adjacent to it for ten years before beginning the renovation. We spent two years helping folks move out, buying their trailers, and tearing them down at out cost if they abandoned them, and, to the best of my knowledge, they all found better living conditions by closing a dreadfully run down park. Not one objected to our plans to me personally or publicly in the hearings to rezone. Many have come back and paid us a visit, excited to see how improved the place is. So, All the assumptions are false, the accusations are false, and could not be further from the truth. We simply have to accept that some folks will be angered when rules are applied. They can get especially abusive when they destroy the place and we charge damage fees with photographic evidence. Many will tell us they broke something and offer to pay, but those that break or burn or destroy and leave quietly, simply deny any culpability and call us lovely names, even after pictures are rendered. It's just part of the business.Customer Response

Well I did not destroy anything, My dog left dog hairs of which I prepaid to have a dog ($35). Plus a cleaning fee of $70. It appears the owners are making false accusations and insinuating that I destroyed, Broke or burned property and left quietly without admitting fault. The owners charged an extra $20 over 15 dog hairs and 2 small swept accumulated areas of dust lint and 7 morsels of dog food that I missed. This is hardly destructive. Unfortunately it was petty and ruined our relaxing stay. And my husband and I stayed there because we were interested in purchasing 2 cabins for our acreage on the mountain for our kids to enjoy. Unfortunately we were very insulted by your need to charge an extra $20. I we paid to have a dog with us. And we paid you to clean after we leave. We cleaned up after ourselves. We threw away our garbage. We washed our dishes and left them in the dishwasher. We did not disrespect your premise in any way. But now you have gone a step further and are insinuating that I destroyed property. Very unprofessional! And your review I read clearly stated you saying that the lady should appreciate the fact that you bought a trashy trailer park and she said note the timeline in took to meticulously clean up the mess!Customer Response

If 15 dog hairs on an arm of a couch is considered destruction and deserving of an extra $20 above and beyond the $35 for pet and $70 for cleaning, well then I feel sorry for you that your business needed the $20 so badly as to make a point rather than letting a guest enjoy the 2 night stay. I find it pathetic You accused me of not following your rules. Of which I did! I did not destroy anything. I simply sat on the couch with a Great Dane beside me not realizing his hair was on my hand, shirt and arm and it transferred to your couch. I enjoyed my stay up until the petty over charged. And the fact that you sent me pictures of 15 hairs and dust you swept from the floor is hardly noted as destruction of your property. I accidentally dropped a bag that had dog food in it and I thought I swept it all up. You had to sweep 7 morsels of food and dust and lint. We’re you not gonna sweep anyway. So why am I being accused of destroying your place over normal usage. Again your rules and regulations do not note that I have to sweep clean or I am charged extra. Again what is the $70 cleaning fee for. And again there was dust and lint accumulated from much more than my 2 nights. And your review I read clearly stated your comment to the lady complaining about her stay… “ this was a trashy trailer park and we cleaned it up and you should appreciate the work we have put into this before you complain; and the hot tub is 2019 and it’s outside and has normal wear and tear from debris and there is nothing wrong with it”. The lady had a legitimate complaint. The hot tub jets suck and the cushions are broke off and missing and it wasn’t comfortable. Your statement was rude, unprofessional and unnecessary. And it’s unfortunate that you nickel and dime good people over 15 hairs on the couch arm. My husband and I live on the road with our Commercial trucking business while we are building a house and we needed that relaxing few days and you ruined it over a measly $20 bucks. A few hairs and 2 small piles of dust and lint. And we were gonna look into you guys building us a couple of cabin on our 20 acres, but I don’t wanna do business with you at all now. Over $20 bucks that could have turned into us buying 2 cabins for our kids to enjoy their space by the river. I feel bad for you that you felt that was necessary. Good Day!
