My son's father took our son to a clinic in ***********, **. He carries the insurance for our son so his information was on the admittance papers. I was listed as an "Emergency " contact. I have no ties to this bill other than my son. I'm not financially responsible for it. I have called to verify this with the doctors ******. They need to stop calling me before take further actions. I tried to tell the lady I spoke with but she kept telling me it was my responsibility to pay and asked her to send me the paperwork that shows my name on anything other than an emergency contact, but she refused. That's when I contacted the doctor's ****** and they confirmed. This needs to be settled with the responsible party, NOT ME!

Both parents are legally responsible for their child's debt. Paperwork is listed as dad and mom not just a emergency contact doesn't mean that we just go after father because he carries the insurance. We will be more than happy to fix the problem if the original creditor wants mom's name removed but this was turned over to our office as ********************************* and *********************************** as being responsible parties for their child. I have updated the account with your complaint today but that does not remove you from your minor child's account. We have reached out to the original creditor they stated they have not received any notification from mom disputing this.

I am rejecting this response because: I want a copy of that paperwork! I was not there, I did not take him to this doctor nor did I fill out the paperwork. I can provide his number for you to harass since he took him.

    Sincerely,

    *********************************

We have contacted original creditor with the response from this complaint. We have updated all records that ********************************* does not want to be responsible. At this point we will put the account in dispute due to legal guardian of child and make notes that she does not feel like she should be responsible for this since she didn't take her child to be seen. Any further issue she will need to contact the original creditor for anything future.
