    I bought a new shotgun on 08/26/2024. I notified the store and had them examine the shotgun on 8/28/2024. The gun would not operate correctly (nor safely). I was told that once I took possession of the gun it became my gun and they had a no refund and no exchange policy. They made no attempt to resolve an issue with a brand new product they sold that was defective. Apparently this allows them to sale defective merchandise without recourse.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

        Mr. **** indeed bought a new shotgun that is under factory warranty. We are not a warranty station and are not gunsmiths. He demanded a refund. I do not know of any firearms dealers who refund on new firearms. His firearm has a warranty card and warranty information with it. ******** owners are allowed to ship to the importer or manufacturer; most manufacturers will even send the buyer or owner a shipping label. We do not believe Mr. **** even contacted the importer / warrantor. He simply demanded a refund from us.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    It is inaccurate. I did not demand a refund. I asked them to confirm the malfunction which they did confirm. After they advised that they did not issue refunds or repairs, I asked how much  credit would be allowed toward the purchase of a new Mossberg Maverick shotgun. The clerk advised he would speak with **** and call me back with a price. I was willing to buy another gun if could have known how much the trade difference was. I was never given a price/trade difference for a new gun. I have contacted the gun importer/manufacturer for a warranty repair. The response of Robertsons Trading post not only demonstrates their poor business practices but also their lack of communication. No other action is expected from Robertsons Trading post as their position as a reputable merchant has forever been tarnished with me. I will never do business with them again and will discourage everyone else to steer clear of them for firearm purchases. Its unfortunate that a local business doesnt take care of its customers.
