On 3-16-22, I paid Spring-Green via credit card $319.01 for four weed/fertilizer treatments. First application of weed killer occurred on 4-20-22. Contacted owner Jimy White on X-XX-XX to request a refund of the balance of $239.26 because I wanted to cancel his ineffective service. (Weeds spread after the first application of his ineffective service). I was told I would receive this refund within a month. That did not occur. I made several subsequent calls to request the refund which was never received. I made calls and left messages on his voice mail to request the refund on 6-7-22, 6-21-22, 6-24-22, 7-25-22, 7-29-22, 8-1-22, 8-2-22, and 8-17-22. I just want the balance he owes me ($239.26).

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2023/01/05) */ Contact Name and Title: Jimy White Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ******@spring-green.net First allow me to address the delayed reply. We have been closed for the holidays and weather. We came back to work yesterday (1/4) to find the first BBB letter in our PO Box. Per the BBB log the second notice was mailed out 12/28 and has still not been received and today is Jan 5th. Secondly, the statement that our applications were "ineffective". I have to say this get me every time. A new client is explained that this is a 2 year process and along that 2 years you will see progress but it will not happen over night. I explain this is complete detail to every single client personally to establish expectations as well as make sure they know what they are getting into financially before this process even starts. Third, the call log and refund. The last known contact I had with Mr. **** was 4-5 months ago when I called and left him a message about his refund being mailed and had been cashed already. I him to confirm and let me know. I never heard another word about it until yesterday. Upon getting this complaint I called Mr. **** to talk thru all this. I actually called him before logging into the BBB website to view the actual complaint. After figuring out what had gone wrong I hand delivered a check to the **** residence a few hours later. Lastly, the cashed check. Turns out this is easily explained. I had cut 2 checks the same week for refunds, one to Mr. **** and one to a 3 year client that was moving to South Carolina. With both of them having the same size lawns and on the same round the checks were the same amount. Was this a mail issue? who knows but had Mr. **** just called me back after my message I would have made sure this had all been resolved. Consumer Response /* (2000, 9, 2023/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Jimy White FINALLY responded to my repeated requests (via phone calls & email) to refund the pre-paid amount for lawn service for summer 2022. I NEVER received a check from him & therefore could not cash a check that was never received. I left a voice message at his number indicating that no check had been received to date. If one had been cashed, someone committed forgery and fraud. To avoid the "check is in the mail" answer (used previously), I requested that the refund check be delivered to my address. This check was delivered to me on 1-4-2023, and was deposited in my account on 1-5-23, o far without any notice from my bank that any problem exists. I will never recommend this business to anyone.
