Hot water tank failed in less than 4 years. Has a 6 year warranty that the company wouldn't honor. They kept giving me excuses that the model was no longer in stock and wouldn't give me any other options. Would never follow up with me - never called me back. Made every step of the process difficult. Please stay away from Lochinvar for your own sanity. To this day they still would not replace the hot water tank.

To whom it may concern, I have Lochinvar boilers installed at multiple condo buildings I manage in Illinois. I thought it would be a great idea to use a company within the USA, I was wrong about Lochinvar. I have had two boilers at a specific property for 8 years. After 8 years one of the boilers' heat exchanger went out. We file a warranty claim since we have a 10 year warranty and that is denied based on quality of water in the system. We install the new heat exchanger and that one goes out after only 3 months. The first one lasted 8 years and the second one lasted 3 months. We file another warranty claim and that too is denied. While replacing the 3 month old heat exchanger the heat exchanger in boiler number 2 goes out. We file another warranty claim and that to is denied. I do not recommend installing Lochinvar boilers in their home, business or anywhere else for that matter. This company is not a quality company and they do not treat their customers or their installers well. I would go with any other boiler manufacturer in the USA or in Germany over Lochinvar. If Lochinvar is associated with the manufacturer you are going with, run for the hills they will only leave you with expensive repairs when you have a 10 year warranty.Lochinvar LLC Response

Lochinvar reserves the right to reject a warranty claim based on water quality. Sediment, magnetite or lime scale buildup can cause premature failures of the heat exhanger. We are not happy that we may lose you as a customer, but pleae be aware that failure to address you water quality issues will cause premature heat exchanger failures on all types of products from different manufactureres. Lochinvar is commited to customer service, but cannot be responsible for the water quality and equipment maintenance onsite. That is the reponsibility of the customer.
