I had a brake line leak near my fuel tank. I showed them exactly where the problem was and specifically asked if they could flare brake lines at their shop. Pashbys called me two days later wanting 1400 dollars to fix my wheel seal and my brake caliper. They lied and told me those where broken and not my brake line. I declined service so I could make the repair myself. They charged me over 300 to lie to me in diagnostic work. They saw a female mechanic and assumed I did not know anything. They tried to overcharge me for items that were not even broken and did not fix or address the issue I brought my truck in for. I then wasted more money on the wheel seal and caliper that was not needed. I personally took both apart, changed the perfectly fine seal, and still have the caliper bouncing in the door if my truck. They are liars that prey on women to overcharge for unnecessary repairs and won't even fix the problem you bring a vehicle in for.

this claim starts off under false pretense we 100% stand behind what we told this customer what we found and explained what that vehicle would need to START WITH as far as repairs go and in full disclosure ... We were unaware that the customer's gender was female. we mistakenly assumed that the person who dropped off this vehicle to be a male ,based on their dress and mannerisms for that we apologize... that being said we would never take the position to mislead anyone for a repair that was not necessary.  unfortunate for this customer, they were told about the leaks we found given an estimate of the repairs that would need to be corrected first and that there can always be the possibility that additional leaks may be discovered once system could build pressure again. and they chose to attempt repairs themselves and pay our standard diagnostic fee which would have been wavered if we did the repairs . with the amount of rust damage her 30 plus year old vehicle has , just like we explained to her when she was given estimate it was highly possible that based on our experiences she can expect more leaks and such issues to occur just based on its bad rust condition alone. Bottom line she declined our service with this fluid leak repair and it doesn't matter if you are a male or a female automotive repair can be over whelming to anyone who tries to attempt something they have never done before and somethings are better off left to professionals.

    thanks,pashbys automotive

I am rejecting this response because:

I clearly showed them the problem that I asked to be repaired.  They told me two other lies. I am a mechanic. I only needed the shop for the brake line repair because I was away from home about 3 hours. Based upon their advice, I changed a wheel caliper and a wheel seal, and neither of those parts were defective. I had a specific problem that they did not want to address, so they made up some other garbage, hoping I would fall for it. If they did not want to do the job, they should have declined diagnostic work. I diagnosed it for them. I only wanted it fixed. They should have just declined if they lacked the skill to work on an older, rust free truck.

    Sincerely,

she will not be receiving any type of refund because she hasn't provided a reason for one other than her false claims that she was lied too.nobody here told her that she needed a "wheel caliper and wheel seal" what she was told was that we found two separate places that were leaking fluid and that these two leaks would have to be stopped and then it may have other leaks that we would recheck for after repairs were done. she was told that the leaks were from a rear wheel cylinder and a rear axle seal.after she was told that she chose to stop our involvement with the repairs to correct her fluid leaks.again she chose to stop our involvement not us, she wanted to pay our check out fee and take the truck to her "shop" and complete the repairs. so once that choice was made its logical that we could not tell her about any other leak or leaks that she discovered or found after she did her repairs. so unfortunately for this customer she was given exactly what she wanted she just didn't think that other problems could become a factor but had more or less put herself into the position she finds herself in.like i have told the customer before we are sorry that she is having so many problems with this vehicle and had she allowed the professionals to make these repairs the whole outcome would have been different.

I am rejecting this response because:

I did not ask for a diagnosis. I asked for a repair for a specific problem that your shop is too inexperienced to handle. You should have declined services if you could not do it. Neither of those lies were wrong with my vehicle. It had a leaking line that I literally pointed to and said can you fix it. You said yes when you should have said no. What sense does it make to charge someone a diagnosis when it did not need to be diagnosed, just a brake line repair. So simple. You just wanted to **** up the bill to over 1400 dollars. An idiot can look at a wheel seal and see whether it not it is blown. Calipers have symptoms, they don't just leak. I repaired the brake line that y'all could not fix, and I have driven from ***** to little rock to ************** in this truck with no problem. Your mechanics are incompetent and you are a homophobe.

first thing if you are truly a "female mechanic" like you stated this is something pretty important that you need to learn... if you have a leak that is coming from something that should not be leaking fluid (in this case a caliper ) well that in its self is a symptom. again we never told you that a caliper was leaking. we told you that  it was a wheel cylinder leaking which just like a caliper can start to leak without warning. it boils down to this we informed you of the leaks we found and were where needed to start the repair, at which time we also told you that we would have to recheck for any other possible leaks it may have. You chose to decline our help with the repair and chose to pay our check out fee instead. that choice no longer made it to where we no longer were involved in moving forward with repairing this vehicle. So when you found this brake line to also be leaking that was something that was always a possibility like we explained to you its unfortunate but it is what it is. it also was a leak discovered after you took this vehicle back and started working on it yourself. had that vehicle been repaired to completion by us you would have a totally different outcome and one that would have come with a warranty but you chose to go another route and one that I no longer will be helping you with again by your choice not ours.  since your responses now have gone to trying to attack us personally I will only respond by saying this how dare you use a offensive word like "homophobic" to us,you ignorant little statement does nothing for people who happen to support certain communities that you chose to throw around as if some kind of light insult.trust me this group of people you accuse us of being afraid of would NOT think very highly of you throwing that kind of false accusations towards others as if you had been the chosen one to go out into the world and pass judgement against others.good luck with your mechanic career.

I am rejecting this response because:

I think you might have something wrong with you, or you cannot read. The brake line was the ONLY problem. The wheel seal, which has nothing to do with brakes, was not defective. You told me that my brake line was not the problem. You said that it was a wheel seal and my caliper. I declined service because any mechanic worth a wrench could tell that neither of those parts were defective. You can lie all you want. It does not change the fact that you lied, or were wrong due to incompetence. I should not have been charged a diagnostic for a problem that I literally pointed out, a leaking brake line. I asked the shop boys if they could flare the line and they said yes. End of story. The line should have been repaired like you said it would. I did not bring my vehicle for a diagnostic. I brought it for a brake line repair. So simple. Obviously the hydraulics for the brakes would not hold pressure with a big a** hole in the line.  What idiot would then say, oh it must be a caliper. Any mechanic that reads this will understand and know exactly what y'all tried to do, upcharge some bs to someone you THOUGHT didn't know what was going on. You caught the wrong one. And yes you are a homophobe and a bigot.

    Sincerely,

Could you please ask pashbys for documentation. They are lying about the diagnosis.
