****************** automated system called on 8/20 to remind me of a doctor *********** on the 8/24. I initially accepted but realized my husband was having shoulder surgery early that next week. I called the office of ************************************ to cancel the ***********.on 8/22 and 8/23, well in advance of the *********** on the 24th. Both individuals I spoke with, 1 male, and 1 female said I did not have an ***********. I finally shrugged it off as a computer error. After all I CALLED TO CANCEL!!!We began receiving bills for a missed *********** for $75, Acct #*******. My husband followed up with them both times. The first time they said they would check into it. This time, they demanded a printout of all of our telephone calls related to any of those dates, which would have included PII they should not havebeen privy to. My husband bucked them. They refused to give. Since he bills out at $250 an hour with a $100 minimum, he said he woul research it but would have to charge them. Fair game. They were angry and defensive. My husband finally told them he would not pay the bill. and they had lost a patient. In addition they were no longer allowed to contact us either as their business entity or another business entity. This is ridiculous. Is the doctor really willing to lose a patient, suffer a hostile review, and a dissatisfied customer for $75 that is not even owed. ****************** is a good doctor, but her admin staff, not so. I would suggest you seek medical assistance from a place where billing is of the same quality as the doctor.

HMA established a Missed Appointment Policy so that all patients can be seen as quickly as possible. Last minute cancellations severely affect the schedule and prevent others from being seen timely. For this reason, HMA asks for at least a 24-hour notice. In reviewing our incoming telephone logs, we find no incoming call from the telephone number on file for 8/22 or 8/23. We do show an incoming call on 8/24 from the telephone number on file at 10:43 a.m. and 3:29 p.m. HMA's billing department supports our patients in resolving patient questions and concerns daily and are often praised for their service. In speaking with ****************** and sharing your comments, she supports HMA's Missed Appointment Policy but has agreed to waive the $75 fee.

On July 29, 2022 I had the *** and was trying to get in to see a doctor. I called a few places to see where I could get in the soonest and I called heritage medical association and asked when the soonest I could get in was. They gave me a date and I told them that it was to far away of a date because I needed to know what it was so I could go back to work. I never made an appointment with them though. Then I checked my mail and there was a bill for $*** and when I called to ask why I got a bill from them they said it was because I never showed up to my appointment. When I told her I didn't make an appointment she said that I needed to get my phone records and send them to her and I asked her how do I get them she simply stated "i don't know but that's the only way you can cancel the bill." But I never made an appointment with them and im very upset that they said I did and are now charging me and saying it was because I never showed up. I will not be paying a bill for an appointment I never made.
