    Dear Better Business Bureau, I am filing a complaint against Comfort Inn Oak Ridge - Knoxville for failing to provide the service I paid for. On 18 September 2024, I attempted to confirm my reservation through a call center at 866-913-0695. After several transfers, the representatives were unable to verify my room reservation. Eventually, I contacted the hotel directly at 865-481-8500, but even the hotel staff could not confirm my reservation despite me providing my name and confirmation number. This inability to verify my reservation made it clear that the hotel failed to reserve a room for me. Later that day, my wife tried to cancel the reservation, but the hotel refused, citing "rudeness" as the reason, despite the fact that no service was provided.

    I stayed at comfort inn 5/19 firvtheee nights. Checked in 5/19 approx 4 pm. Online I reserved room with my Visa Debit card ending in 2967 but upon checking in told them to charge my ****** **********. They took card in back and the returned it to me. 5/19 evening I noticed a pending charge of $420.69 by Saturday am 5/20 a pending charge of $780 When I want to front desk, they told card system was down last night so they copied my Mastercard number and put in the charges but tried to refund my debit visa but “ accidentally charged it again, finally closed that reservation and created a new one with the Mastercard, which creating a pending charge of $780.94 ( $339 of it was incidental hold for early cancellation”) Manager *** ****l told me “ don’t worry nothing will go thru until Monday”. 5/21 my checking account ( associated w/ my Visa Debit) had withdrawn $420.69 and as of Monday 5/22 a pending charge for $780.94 While moving my daughter my checking account was short $1200( money which I needed to pay for U haul and rent a vehicle) I was told by assistant manager and Choice Customer Relations refunds can take up to 21 days and they are not showing the original charge of $420.69 on Visa actually went thru. They also have posted the Mastercard charge of $420.69 by 5/22 am. So essentially so far I’m short $1200 on my visa debit and was charged also on my Mastercard total $1620!! Not to mention when bills come thru while $1200 gets sorted out on my debit checking, they will overdraft and cost me $25 fee each one. I would like refund total of $420.69 and the pending charge of $780 and some kind of compensation from hotel whether it’s refunded for one night stay or future free night stays at this location. Or points toward Choice stay anywhere on my Choice Reward account. I have not even received”sorry” or apology from manager . I was told 5/20 “ take it up the bank “ “ I can assure you we don’t want to take your money” “ nothing will go through on the weekend”
