A few years ago I started going to Broome Optical for glasses and contacts.I had always only seen Opthalmologists. I saw Jimmy M.. I was very pleased with his service. Could see well out of glasses and hard contacts which I had wore for 63 years. They were comfortable and I had good vision. I had cataract surgery. Dr. Avery R.. He does not fit glasses or contacts. Returned to Jimmy M.. I could not see out of the glasses he prescribed. He told me "its not the prescription". He stormed out of the exam room.Of course I did not pay for nor accept them. I returned to Dr. R. who told me I needed a prism in my lens. Mr. M. never suggested I needed a prism, or one in each eye as McKenzie W. figured out. I went into Broome this past week to buy frames which Isac assured me that I could buy. I picked a pair, went to front desk to pay and after a bit of a wait, a young man named Thomas came to the desk and told me that "since I wasn't satisfied with services in the past to take my business elsewhere" and no I could not buy the frames. So, I was kicked out of Broome optical for refusing to pay almost a thousand dollars for glasses that were ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CORRECT prescription. I'm pretty sure no-one would have accepted those glasses especially when what was needed was vastly different that what Mr. M. chose to prescribe for me. When I told him I would not take them, he made no offer to try and find out why. ****** ** ****** ***** ** ** ** * ********** ****** *********** *** **** *** **** *** ****** ** **** ** ** ******** ** ******** ****** ******** *** *** ****** ***** *** ********** **** ********* **** **** ***** *** *** *** *** *** ******* ***** Anyway, my friends and family are getting a lot of laughs, and giggles out of my being kicked out of Broome Optical for refusing to pay for shoddy service, Now we say to each other, "be careful you are going to get kicked out of Broome Optical" over any and all humorous activities.

Horrible experience- Desk person was rude, stated I should talk the the doctor if I have questions and said I could not change information for ordering contacts for my child. I never had the opportunity to see or consult with the doctor. I asked to visit with the doctor and was told Dr K. left. Practice was unprofessional and this was an initial exam for contacts for a minor.

I purchases glasses from Broome and paid $ 994.00. After receiving them they caused an arc in whatever I was looking at. I took them back to Broom for recheck. I had to have my eyes checked a second time. the doctor made an error on the axis so had to have them remade. While waiting for glasses I went to another eye glass place and purchased two pair for 400.00. When my glasses were ready a second time, I told them I wanted a refund because I got them cheaper somewhere else. They offered no solution, no credit, no nothing. I didn't realize buying glasses was such a scam and markup. As a senior citizen and on a fixed income I really can't afford the glasses from Broom. They were not amenable to any solution. It was unequivocally stated "there is nothing we can do, sorry!" While I was waiting in their business for the problem with the arc I overheard discounts being offered to other customers. Not one time was I offered a discount. When I told the doctor he said "we could do that" (a discount) He never followed through with his offer. I feel I have been scammed and they still have my glasses. People should know that the markup on glasses is astronomical. They are scamming us not to mention taking advantage of us (senior citizen).
