Today we had a small business bring in (to ************************) an invoice she received from UAC for services she did not request and the product she was being charge for had the library's name on it. We (the library) NEVER requested any products of an sort from ***. We have had issues with them in the past using our name on their products without our consent and then trying to charge other businesses for those products. The products have mostly been magnets but sometimes have also been bags. This issue has happened off and on for many years.Business response

*** and its affiliates have agreements in place with the ************************ to distribute marketing and advertising materials. Copies of the agreements are provided. If the library no longer wants to distribute and receive the materials, then we will submit to cancel the agreement. All that was needed was for the library to contact our customer ********************** department, and request to cancel the agreements.Customer response

I have requested cancellation of a community guide ad via phone/voicemail three times over the last two months and I just received an invoice from UAC4U dated for 11/12/2024 and mailed on 11/27/2024. I never received the initial proof of the ad to run as requested at the time of setup over the phone. I was supposed to be emailed all information per request and this has not occurred either. I have checked with the local library and the receptionist was not aware of the community guide or its run time. The *** *** led me to believe you all were based out of ********, AL and after research I discovered this was not the case at such time I called and received a UAC voicemail around the end of August. I have since returned three calls from the *** between October and November that have all gone to her voicemail and each time I have left a message stating I have requested cancellation. Please be advised that I am disputing Invoice# ****** and a complaint has been filed with the BBB, which is where I located this support email seeing as you only list your phone number online. I am formally requesting for my phone number and all business information in connection with Customer ID ******** to be removed from your call listings and database effective immediately. I am also formally requesting confirmation via email of cancellation of Invoice#****** which was received on 12/10/2024, postmarked on 11/27/2024 and printed on 11/12/2024. If you wish to refute my dispute, please provide your contact at the *********************** , located at *********************************, where you have stated the community guide was supposed to run so I may contact them directly.Initial Complaint

*** keeps billing us for advertising that I did not authorize or order. They say I ordered ads on magnets and tote bags to be distributed at the *********************************************. We see high end performance wake & surf boats and our target market is not at the *************. I argued with them a few months ago and they quit calling me but now they are strong arm calling me several times a day. I have asked to be taken off of their calling list and they say I have to pay to get off the list. I asked them for a signed contract but they won't send me one but continue to tell me that I have paid them for the ads in the past. I asked for the proof of what the ad looks like and they only send these invoices. I am refusing to pay & they won't quit harassing me. I want them to remove the bills and never call Idaho Water Sports again.Business response

*** has reviewed the complaint, and found that the customer purchased ********************** with our company multiple times and had already advertised their business with the senior center in the past. Most recently, the customer ordered ********************** again on 12/5/2024, and again on the senior center products. As a show of good faith, we will cancel the advertisements that were ordered on 12/5/24, and I will work with our phone vendor to prohibit further calls from our company.Customer response

Complaint: 22660084
I am rejecting this response because: I did not order more advertising last week. I argued with them every day that they called to harass me about this matter. They claim that I authorized this months ago and only paid part of the contract. They won't supply me with a signed contract or a proof of what the ad was. Yes, I have participated in their community maps in the past, but I would not have advertised at the senior center or on magnets. They called in July with their heavy handed selling telling me then that I had ordered these bags and magnets.
I want a credit for what they say we owe. I don't care if there is a blank spot on their magnets and bags.
I want all locations of Idaho Water Sports to be put on a do not call list by this company and their affiliates. No one in our company is authorized to buy marketing from them.

***** ****Initial Complaint

UAC4U is a deceitful advertising company. What was supposed to be a one time advertisement on bags handed out through a local library, turned into an advertisement never-ending nightmare. I was "locked" into ads that every quarter, that I did not knowingly agree to. I have received calls stating that "I owe for advertisement that is already going out and after this payment, the rest will be cancelled." Only to get another call stating, "well that was ads for the City, I am calling about your ads for the County." They know how to play a responsible business owner. I don't want to owe anyone for something that I misunderstood what I was agreeing to and/or has "already been printed or sent out". So I paid the bills with no proof that anything was actually sent to county residents. I was promised copies of each printed ad. I never received anything but another bill with a new phone call, no matter how many times I stated that I wanted this account canceled. I got another call and another bill. Do not use this company for your advertisement. They may get you the money and business ads, but their s***** practices will tarnish your reputation with your local business owners. I had another call today on $1800.00 that I somehow still "owe" for "ads that are about to go out"....hopefully the following phone calls and this complaint will stop this idiocy.Business response

*** has reviewed the complaint and found that the customer was contacted as a part of the first right of refusal that has been offered to the customer previously. They do not owe UAC any monies. If they wanted to continue to advertise on upcoming editions, there would have been additional costs. I have placed the customer's contact information with our phone vendor, restricting our company from contacting the customer.Initial Complaint

My small childcare business has received two different invoices from two different companies that both have the same phone number, payment information and address listed. The bills are for advertisement on maps and tote bags that were never authorized. When i received the invoices i did not pay for them because I never authorized them. I then received a phone call saying that I owed them this money. I explained that I never authorized any kind of advertising and they kept insisting that "someone" authorized it. The dates on the invoices are from May and July and I continue to receive the "past due" invoices in the mail. I'm not paying for something that I did not authorize or ask for.Business response

*** has reviewed the complaint and found that the customer was contacted on 5/14/24 and 7/22/24 for advertising opportunities. Someone claiming to be the owner agreed to participate as per the recording provided. The services were rendered and proof of delivery is included from ***, to both the customer and the ********************** distributor. While *** will add the customer to our DNC, this will not stop the calls for the past due balance. It only restricts the contacting of the customer for new **********************.Initial Complaint

We are constantly getting harassed by *** representatives after I've explicitly told them to stop calling us. They claim we owe them money even though I've never done business with them because we handle our own advertising. They are restless, don't fall for their scare tactics. Very unprofessional people.Business response

*** has reviewed the complaint of found that the customer incorrectly stated they had "never done business" with ***, or its affiliates. I have attached a copy of the customer's first invoice with our ********************** from 2011. I have also attached copies from 2020 and the most recent, which remains unpaid. I will place the customer's contact information with our phone vendor, preventing further contact with the business for new advertising sales.Customer response

We have repeatedly received calls from your business promoting advertising services for various local areas. Despite our clear communication that we do not wish to continue advertising and would like to be removed from your system, we were informed that our original agreement purportedly enrolled us in multiple rounds of marketing that cannot be canceled. Nevertheless, we have not authorized these additional services, and invoices continue to arrive suggesting approval of these orders, despite our multiple explicit refusals.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: This only prohibits calls according to the information provided. Since making this complaint we have received another scam invoice mailed to our office indicating approval that was never provided. We want to be removed form any mailings and all invoices voided as none were approved by our office even though the company claims otherwise by sending them.

I made a purchase with this company to advertise on some reusable bags. Shortly after that I started receiving a ton of items and when I asked why they told me it was part of the contract and that I needed to pay for them or else it would go on my business credit. I made the payment and told them that I wanted nothing else a short time later I has more items show up at my store and they keep calling me and when I told them I wanted to see this contract they just kept telling me that I owed them more money and that I needed to pay . I started looking into the company and see they have really bad reviews and I was scammed. I want my money backBusiness response

*** has reviewed the complaint and found that each time the customer was contacted, they were informed they were purchasing new advertisements. The customer states that they received items and according to our records, never contacted *** to alert us that the "wrong product" was received. Each time the customer placed an order and subsequently paid for the advertising, they would have received a copy of the invoices for their records. Every time the customer received complimentary products from their advertising order, a distributor also received a large amount of product to be distributed. *** fulfilled the orders as requested by the orders. Again, the customer will no longer be contacted by our company, or its affiliates for further advertising opportunities.Initial Complaint

UAC is a deceptive company that uses confusing, manuipulative sales tactics. I have paid what I was told was my total amount due at least 3 times, each time having told the *** *** that we did not want to do any other business with them. Each time it seems we are finally finished with them, another *** calls back and says we still owe the other half of our shipment. They refuse or can not provide me with any proof that I had authorized or asked for any additional advertising from UAC. This company is deciptive and tries to confuse you to keep getting more and more money. I finally told them today unless they can show where I agreed to additional advertising, I will not be sending them any additional money.Business response

*** has reviewed the complaint and found that the customer did purchase ********************** from *** in the past. All orders have been paid for and shipped, and the customer owes UAC nothing. The customer as a prior customer is given the first opportunity as new rotations of ads are distributed, which is usually the purpose of the call. Going forward, *** will no longer contact the customer, and we have removed the customer from our system.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I still feel that they are a deceptive company and use misleading sales tactics to make you think that you continue to owe them money, even if you have paid in full for everything as a way to keep extending their sales.
