On January **, 2023, I reached out to ti64 to receive a quote on a small order of bolts. The next day, I also asked for a quote on a second order of different bolts. On January 20, I was given a quote for both sets of bolts with a four to six week lead time: 6 - #**-24 x 1.5 in. bolts @ $21.34 each ($**8.04 total)6- #8-36 x 1/4 in. bolts @ $16.34 each ($98.04 total). The same day, I replied that I would like to make the order. On February 2, I was told that the order was placed and I was given a formal invoice for the order. That same day, I called the company and provided full payment for the order. One month later, on March 1, I was notified by the company that they had made a mistake in the quote. They stated that the price for the #8-36 x 1/4 inch bolts would not be $16.34 each, but instead over ten times as much at $164.83 each for a total of $989.00 for just those six bolts. I responded to the notice saying that since a valid sales contract had been formed and performance made on my end, they were obligated to still produce the bolts at the agreed upon price. Failure to do so, under ***** contract law, would obligated them to reimburse me for the difference in the price paid to them and in the price to produce the bolts elsewhere. On March 1, the company refunded my entire order. I explained that I would still like the unaffected bolts to be produced, and that under ***** law, the company would also have to pay the difference in price for these bolts if I were to seek another producer. So far, no response has been received. I am not seeking punishment for the company or any sort of financial gain. I just want the company to understand that changing the price of the contract after the entire lead time is unfair to the customer and more importantly a breach of the valid sales contract. I would like them to still produce the unaffected bolts, and potentially find some other resolution for the affected bolts without wasting time or money in court.
