Contracted this firm to represent my family against our home builder in November of 2022, after paying $2100 in legal retainers, the case remains unresolved and untouched as far as I can tell by the representing attorney. During the last 18 months Ive had two small strings of contact about 6 months apart each ending with no clarity, information, or action. I routinely call and leave messages but often find the mailboxes full or the numbers out of service and with the two exceptions above, never receive a call back. I was told there was a restructuring of the business in late 2023 but following that Alex ********************** agreed to continue representing me yet with no action taken. I have asked to be refunded the retainer several times with an outright refusal to do so.

As the BBB is aware of the issues with *************************** this is one of his cases that he stole the money from and left with it and left the file behind. I do show it to be in our system still. A new lawyer will have to assigned to the matter but because ************************* embezzled this retainer we arent able to file a lawsuit.

He can reach out to the State Bar regarding the retainer issue which they are aware of and having pending hearings against ******** or find another lawyer or we will reassign it which is happening right now with about ***** of the former ******** cases.

Please contact the State Bar with your concern on this issue. They are assembling all the issues with the closed law firm.

This attorney charged me for a retainer, with no feedback for 18 months. They were always "working on the case" and would get back with me later. I filed a complaint with the *************** and his answer was that he wasn't the responsible attorney, that my case was actually from a different attorney that I'd never even heard of. Even though on my credit card statement it said Alex ********************** Law. The recommendation in his response to the Bar was for me to get a new attorney. No refund of retainer offered.

I did receive multiple calls and emails from the law firm which I assume they are from the billing department. They owe me my entire retainer amount of $975 to hat I used my credit card as payment but never got the statement from h m I got my 1st and only bill. The bill only showed I owed $432 and **** in the billing department was giving me 10% off because it said on the statement if I paid it by a certain date. I asked her why didnt I get a statement sho inf I paid the $975 for my retainer: She had no answer then I got side tracked and just paid the balance. I have my banking records right here with me: well the attorney was. Still awful and I texted him he was fired and not to contact me so he could charge me more ridiculous fees. I couldnt get the billing ***** to refund me the money so I put a complaint on a legal lesions website. Finally I got a call &or email or both and *** wants me to take down my negative review but I ultimately refused to do so because they owed me my full amount of the retainer and since I paid balance there after in full they owed me my 1st statement payment refund in the change for hunting down and r moving my review from the internet. I Emailed & emailed and called always to get a run around and always told they fired that person or they are changing their daily people around & I got as far as they said theyd ***** me a check. Since they refused to respond to my demands Im here still stuck out without any legal assistant for my original issues to why I hired this law firm m 1st place this is unjust& I feel so betrayed, violated, manipulated and empty handed. Please help me get back whats rightfully mine and the reviews Ill take them down 4 additional fee I will change of $432. The amount of my only invoice statement payment and of course my unused $975 Retainer. If businesses cant be trustd2 do what theyre hired to do . If they are trusted with our money and steal it from us well that just looks like I got scammed

The law offices of **** Hernandez *** was eager to take our retainer fee. We paid them $2925 on 11/17/22 and they immediately became impossible to reach! I even sent a certified letter to them at the end of Feb. 2023. I haven't received a response of any plan of action. Meanwhile, the family member we're desperately trying to get mental care for is deteriorating and living dangerously on the streets, in and out of jail for her mental condition. This has taken such a toll on my entire family.I've filed a complaint with the State Bar of Texas 4/10/23. Since this company refuses to assist we need to receive our retainer fee back. They didn't hold up any part their agreement or perform any work on our behalf.

ARH law took $1950 in lawyer retainer fees in bad faith. They never performed any actual legal services on my behalf. The lawyer that I was assigned also told me that he never did the work because he was never paid for my case, affirming that this law firm took my money in bad faith and provided no legal services in return!

Last June I contacted The Law Offices Of Alex R. Hernandez Jr. to represent me in a legal issue concerning my deceased mother's land in *****. Within days they referred me to an attorney, I never requested, named *****************************. After not hearing back from her (after almost two months), I inquired about the status of my case - to only receive a sparse reply (twice) by ****************** - by e-mail. After waiting another month for her to answer ALL my questions, I terminated her services, including all legal services from ************ Hernandez ************ (on October 9, 2022) - due to her lack of transparency and concern for resolving my case. Based on the service I received, I requested a FULL refund for the amount I paid them (which was $975). For MONTHS I tried to reach a resolution with them to bring this issue to a close, again, all by e-mail; I was NEVER once contacted by anyone from their legal team.. Finally, by February we reached a "settlement" - with them agreeing to Refund my money (within TWENTY days upon me signing it); I signed it on February 01, 2023. After signing our agreement, the next day they sent me a check - PAYABLE to *********************!; The problem.. my legal name is *************************** -- an obvious mistake that shouldn't have been made when you take into account I signed our agreement under that name - (and went as far to inform them, beforehand, to make any check payable in that name). After informing them of their mistake, which I believe was INTENTIONAL, they chose to ignore me and my constant emails -- KNOWING full well I wouldn't be able to cash that check. I even sent the check back to them (more than a week ago), asking them to correct their mistake and mail the check back (after they correct THEIR mistake). I'm STILL waiting on their response, by phone or email. After they RENEGED on our agreement, I no longer trust them. I wouldn't be surprised if they are not running a SCAM. Maybe they will respond to you and do the right thing and refund my money (as they promised).... But, I'm highly doubtful.

I hired the **********, Hernandez ************ on July 18, 2022, to assist me with a legal issue I have with real estate located in ******* **. I signed the agreement and paid my retainer of $975. My case was initially assigned to *********************, and I sent him all the documents on July 20, 2022, as requested by the firm. I sent him follow up email and calls for the next couple of months and no response. I reached out to the main office on Sept. 2022, and I was notified that **** had left the firm and my case was being assigned to another attorney, *******************. He scheduled a phone call, and I sent him all the same information I sent **** on Sept 2022. I didn't hear back from **** at all. I called the main office again and they told me that my case was getting reassigned again. *********************** was the new attorney and he reached out in January 2023. I sent him all the same info I sent the previous 2 lawyers. He communicated better than the rest and told me on Feb. 2023 that he was leaving the firm and was handing my case over to *****************************. I haven't heard from this law firm since. I have tried to call the law firm but no answer or returned emails. I need assistance to get a refund in order for me to hire another attorney so that I can get assistance with my case.

****, the firm was run and managed by a company named Legal DNA and by **** A ********, it fell apart under their watch. If you have a refund they would have your retainer. If you need an invoice to see what services were paid for, I can pull it for you.

    Complaint: 19909322

I am rejecting this response because: the firm hired under the contract agreement is your firm not with legal DNA or anyone else. The fact that you all had some poor  leadership is not my problem and I paid the retainer to your company. Why would they have my refund? Is the legal agreement not good enough to hold you all accountable? Im certain if this was you that was collecting funds from me you would execute that agreement. Id like my money back since your firm did nothing to help me with my case.

    Regards,

    **** ******
