On 7/17/23 I made an appointment for a specific stylist and was required to place a deposit for the appointment. The stylist left the salon prior to my scheduled appointment on 7/29. I was never contacted by the salon that the specific stylist left just sent a text informing me of a time change for my appointment. As the service I booked was not available I wished to cancel my appointment however the salon is unable to refund my deposit. As I was never contacted or given a choice about how to proceed with my appointment I do not find it appropriate that my deposit is withheld as their obligation for specific stylist to perform a service is not being provided.

Regarding the letter itself we have not received for we noticed that it was sent on Wednesday, August 16. We did not receive the letter until Tuesday, August 22 now,

Now regarding the clients complaint it is listed on every single platform that we have, it is shown at the front of the salon that the $50 deposit is nonrefundable and that is our salon policy. We were also notified by the stylist that left the salon company that she was honoring that $50 deposit, we did notify the client to let her know the stylist was no longer with us but that appointment was still on our schedule with another stylist.

In situations like this, we do our best to make sure the client is happy and still offer them at that $50 credit whether it is for service here at the salon or for product if theyre not comfortable seeing our stylist.

I am rejecting this response because:

This response is inaccurate. I was not notified by the salon that the stylist left, I called regarding my appoint and was not even told my appointment was rescheduled with a different stylist until 2 days before the appointment date when the new stylist called to confirm which included a change in the appointment time. Since the contract was not upheld on their end, specific service requested with a specific stylist, I believe a credit is not an adequate option. Also, my receipt does not state that the $50 paid was not refundable.

As far as responding to the fact that weve received four letters weve only received the letter sent out on Wednesday, August 16 on Tuesday, August 22 and that is the first and only letter weve ever received regarding this complaint.

Responding to the complaint itself the attached photo is repeated to each and every color service. It is posted on the front of the salon as well as on our website and all of our social medias including Instagram, TikTok as well as Facebook.
It is not anything that we keep from our clients we are aware that they do have to be notified and we make sure we do our part to let them know, the client had an appointment booked with us that they did not make they were aware of the cancellation policy and willingly gave the card information after we followed up about the no-show.

The only way to ensure that our stylists get any kind of compensation for situations like this is this no-show policy that we have in place. This is the only source of income that the stylists have so we have to make sure that we do our part to make sure they get some kind of income when situations like this occur. Trying to find a client to come in in that exact moment is hard and its not reasonable our stylist depend on their clients to show up in order for them to have a paycheck.
Every client gets a 24 hour phone call to confirm that appointment and they have the option to reschedule.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have asked in my complaint and repeatedly  - -  IS IT LEGAL FOR A COMPANY TO HAVE A MINOR CHILD SIGN INTO A LEGAL DOCUMENT AND HOLD A MINOR CHILD TO FINANCIAL OBLIGATION???

If it is- I think that is a travesty and an injustice to minors. Society has laws and regulations protecting children- this company preys on children financially

    It is not that complicated
