Pattern of Complaint:

BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning sales practice, contract, service, and cancellation issues.  Specifically, White Knight Pest Control’s pattern of complaints includes consumers’ alleging incomplete or failure to provide services at their scheduled appointments, consumers alleging their pest control treatments did not effectively work, misleading sales practices including allegations of high-pressure sales tactics, consumers believing they were signing something other than a one-year contract, and consumers alleging they were sold on a no obligation contract and were later informed they signed a 12-month contract.  Consumers also alleged they did not sign a contract but were contracted into White Knights services.  Consumers also alleged difficulties canceling White Knight’s services.  Consumers alleged misunderstanding the cancellation policy and being charged within the 3-day cancellation period.

On October 25, 2024, BBB submitted a written request to White Knight Pest Control encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints.

On October 29, 2024, White Knight Pest Control responded their business doubled in size over the past 6 months including their total services completed and new customers sold.

White Knight Pest Control responded they implemented a welcome call to customers, so they understand the sale. They created a new technician app to review re-service percentages and other metrics to improve their performance and motivation.

White Knight Pest Control also adjusted its retention policy to be more lenient allowing customers to get out of their contracts more easily.  They have implemented allowing customers who were on autopay to be taken off of autopay for their final payment if it is a cancellation fee.

Although White Knight Pest Control responded to BBB’s request to address its pattern of complaints BBB continues to have concerns regarding the pattern of complaints.

White Knight sales *** contacted me in person at my residence to sell the product of pest control In 2024. Promotion $30 for initial treatment with auto draft of $109. Company would treat property every 2 months and retreat if problems. Service could be cancelled at anytime with no penalties. At no time did sales ***. state I would be signing a 12 month contract. What I was told I was signing was the authorization for the auto draft payments. After the initial treatment, White Knight treated the property 3 other times with no improvement. I spoke with customer service multiple times about retreatment and cancellation of the service. I was told that I could only cancel if the company had the opportunity to retreat. I allowed the retreatment(which didn't work) and was told again that cancellation could not happen unless the company had the opportunity to try I different chemical. I allowed this which resulted in no improvement. I informed company through phone and email that I was cancelling the service and was told I could only do that if I paid an additional $292 for the initial treatment. I told them I paid $30 for the initial treatment and that's when they told me that was because I signed a contract. At this point I cancelled my debit card so that the auto draft would no longer be paid to White Knight for services not rendered or future payments. At this point I have received harrassing phone calls and emails and now White Knight has turned my account over to a collection agency for the "contract amount". I never understood that I was under contract. If the sales *** had said I needed to sign a contract, I would have refused their service. I feel White Knight is coercing a payment by claiming I signed a contract and now turning my account over to a collection agency in order to obtain the funds. I need White Knight to cancel my account, bring the balance to zero and note the account in good standing and withdraw any collections.

Occurred around Sept 2024. Around $200 was paid to the business. They committed to providing pest control services to our property. They stated the charges every other month would be $200 with the neighborhood discount. They charge the consumer first then provide 2 months of service (two visits). We cancelled our account after the first charge/2 visits. They sent an invoice for the next 2 months of service but it was a higher amount than previous. Payment did not go through. Tried to contact them on the phone to explain the charge since we cancelled our account. Did not talk to anyone over the phone. Tried to call 5 times over the course of 2 months to talk to someone. Sent an email end of Nov stating I had questions about the pending charge on our account. Didn't receive a reply until end of December. A reply was sent a couple days later. Received a reply 10 days later (because i sent a follow-up email, otherwise i wouldn't have received anything). They replied back with "we sent an email to the account holder". Not sure yet what that email consists of, but they didn't ask what my question was or make an effort to see what i needed. A $400 charge is still pending for an unknown reason and is now being sent to collections, because they are impossible to contact. No documentation/contract was sent to me so i can review the terms. I am unable to talk to anyone regarding this charge i supposedly owe. I should have researched and read the company reviews before signing up for this service. They solicited/door knocking in neighborhoods and pressure you into signing up for this service and state how much of a good deal it is. They never disclosed with me the cancellation rules/policies when signing the contract in person.

In May/June of 2024 a sales *** from White Knight Pest Control came to my newly built home to sell Pest Control services. After meeting with the ***, I asked him about costs and contracts. He assured me that there was absolutely zero contracts and that I could cancel the service at any time with no additional costs. I kept the services for 3 visits and then I called to cancel. They informed me that I was in a 12 month contract and it would cost $300+ to terminate. This was sales manipulation and flat out lies. They put a flyer on my door that states they are a BBB accredited business but when I looked them up, your website states otherwise. I am trying to cancel my contract with no additional charges or penalty. If that isn't possible, I would like other people to be aware of this scam. The service costs $140 every 2 months.

On July 2024, a sales representative for the company knocked on my residence door. They explained their services and offered me a trial contract for 3 months, which could lead to a 1 year contract. I was promised I could quit anytime after the 3 month trial period. I was dissatisfied with the service. In the third month I contacted White Knight telling them I wanted to drop their services. I was told by an agent that I had to have a one year contract or pay a $200.00 cease of service penalty. When I explained that I was offered a 3 month trial period with the option of quitting any time after the trial period, the agent I spoke with said that I could not quit. And when I explained the sales agent's promise, she told me that they are not responsible for anything they promise and that they are contractors. During my conversation with the White Knight representative, I asked for a copy of the 1 year contract. I never received one. I have been contacted several times by White Knight personnel, threatening to take me to court to collect the $200.00 penalty. They have contacted me by text and by phone several times. They even texted me and called me on Thanksgiving Day. Their most recent text was on January 10th, 2025, threatening me with "that my account is past due and is set to enter preliminary collection stages in less than one week."

Approximately 5 years ago we hired White Knight Pest Control for our home. Recently, we lost trust in the company and attempted to discontinue receiving their services. However, White Knight Pest Control is refusing to let us discontinue. They charged us $67.00 for no services rendered and are threatening late fees if we dont pay. To be clear, we discontinued with the company before this recent charge to our account. They are saying we are bound by contract to give 30 days notice prior to cancellation. However, this is not applicable, we were never given a contract prior to receiving their services We are feeling bullied and mistreated by White Knight Pest Control. We are requesting that they stop attempting to bill us and stop attempting to regain us as customers.

My wife signed us up for pest control service with White Knight. After several missed treatments and in ability to schedule when we wanted service we attempted to cancel. We were informed we signed a 1 year contract and owed 1 additional payment. We made the payment but informed the customer service *** over the phone we wanted the service canceled and to not service our residence again, they said we payed for 1 more service but we stated not to come. They disregarded this request and serviced our residence when we were away. This should have been the end of our agreement, however they sent another technician again and now say we owe more money for the additional service and when speaking to their customer service they say we have agreed to all price increases and services and our account is only pending cancelation, they hang up when we call and give no means to cancel online. They are trying to strong arm us into paying for service we did not want.

We previously filed a complaint with the BBB since this company would not address a wasp situation. Finally once BBB was notified I was contacted by ***** **** and she made arrangements to send out a technician. I told ***** we would not be renewing our contract. Without my approval a technician showed up at my home this Saturday, Dec 14th and serviced our property. My credit card was charged $129.99. I called White Knight Pest Control on Monday and spoke with ******** to refund my credit card since this was not approved and I no longer have a contract with them. ******** informed me that she did not have the authorization to refund my money. I was told ***** **** would return my call and of course she has not. This is an unscrupulous company. Last time it took me from July 2024 to Oct 2024 to get any results. However once BBB got involved I was able to get a solution. I do not want to continue back and forth with White Knight. I want my refund and they should honor that my contract expired in October and I do not wish to do any further business with them. Here is my former BBB number ********

I engaged White Knight ************* under a 12-month agreement beginning on May 15, 2024. While I understood the terms of the agreement, I have encountered the following serious issues:Unauthorized Access: Services were performed without confirmation of my availability or explicit permission to access my backyard.
