Had this company move my things from ****** to ************ ** January 21, 2023. Original agreed price was $3000 but when arrived said had more than thought so would have to pay hourly so just agreed to $4000. After move was completed later when I had to move couch to vacume under it saw several bad scratches under the couch leg where ***** had been moved to by them. Scratches were not there before as house was just completed is brand new. I called mover **** on January 31, 2023 and he said his Dad took care of that so needed to talk him which I did and he said he would mail a check for damage so I waited a week but no check. I called the Dad but his phone blocks my number so spoke **** again said they would mail check but it never comes. Called him again Feb. 14, 2023 told them damage was $500 but would accept $300 so said ok would mail it but no check ever comes they just keep putting it off. I just want the check to repair floor damage which is $500 including labor and material. They have or are suppose to have insurance so they should use it to pay damage and I have pictures of damage which they saw.

First off when we arrived to Mr. ************* house in ******* **** had noticed a lot of miscellaneous stuff that wasn't packed that needed to be packed and talked to ****************** about it because we were also taking his car in the trailer as well. **** had told ****************** it would take a little longer to load because of all the miscellaneous stufff and that it would take more house and cost more money. **** and ****************** agreed on the $4000 flat rate charge. Then they began loading.  2 weeks after the job was complete ****************** texted saying after he had slid his couch out of the way to clean he had noticed a scratch on the tile floor. When American Pride Moving placed the couch down there was no scratch on the tile. We placed the couch down carefully and never moved the couch once. The only time it was moved was when ****************** moved it himself to clean. The customer himself texted and said he slide the couch himself.

I am rejecting this response because they already said they were going to mail me a check for damage, as was told by both the Dad and ****. Second when I moved couch I slowly it slid a few inches to vacume there is no way that would cause that kind of damage and the scratches go out much farther than where I moved it the few inches. It was let down and dropped several times when 2 of the movers at night were trying to figure out where and how it was gonna go in that space. Even the builder who gave me the damage estimate told me it was obviously done by the movers by dropping and moving the couch by how it was located on the floor with the furniture. They also told me they see it happen all the time with companys when they have to move lots of heavy furniture quickly into the houses. The moving company clearly caused the damage and they should have insurance to cover this as I asked them if they did up front and they said they did. I need the $500 to pay for the damage they caused to make the new floor look like it did before they moved stuff in and a reputable company would gladly pay and not try to get out of it.

    Regards,
