- Additional Info:In 2013 BBB began an investigation of this business following their application for Accreditation. During BBB's investigation, it was discovered that the owner was the subject of prior government action. On May 6, 2013, the Beaumont Police Department issued a press release stating that the owner of Pastry on Wheels, John Brenton Daigre, was arrested and charged with fraudulent solicitation of female models. Mr. Daigre is alleged to have been using the business name, Pastry on Wheels, and had developed a website where people could apply for various positions. He would then set up appointments to direct female applicants to a meeting room at a local hotel where he could interview and photograph them.
This was further investigated by the BBB so that the facts could be reported to Southeast Texas consumers. The BBB learned through the investigation that the business had been advertising and operating unethically.
Mr. Daigre was found to be in violation of numerous provisions of his probation.
