I had a car loan with Santander Consumer USA. I missed car payment because of medical reasons. I contacted them and they were going to work with me. I am 78 years old and disabled. They repossessed my car. I have been unable to purchase another vehicle because they refused to contact credit bureaus and inform them of the repossession. They did not notify of them going to take my car. Someone showed up at me house on a Friday night. It was 22 degrees outside and my driveway was covered in ice. This is the worst auto loan company *** ever experienced their call center is not US based which makes it very difficult to understand the customerservice reps. **** also lack information that the customer seeks. I am requesting for information on refinancing my vehicle that I have a loan through Santander with was told by customer service. ******************** does not refinance vehicles, which is not true because they do refinance vehicles. Ive been given the runaround consistently and I honestly want out of this loan. I am nowseeking to refinance with a different bank just to get away from Santander and I want an apology and a reason why they would not refinance my which is a 2024 ***** equinox EVReview from Kimberly C

This is my son's first car loan. His sister cosigned for him. He got stuck with a high car note for a 2019 Dodge Charger (As-Is) paying $541 a month for $17,000 with 60 months his sister's credit was a 720 they didnt kniw to ask questions. Since he lost his job, he fell behind on payments. After talking several times to agents, Santander Consumer did not attempt to work with them in reducing the payments for 3/4 of the monthly amount or moving a payment to the end of the loan. Until he can get them caught up. They got screwed on this loan. Santander said it's their policy. Worst company to have an auto loan with. Oh their interest rate is 29%. Robbery. How with $1700 down-payment and a 720 credit score.Review from Jeremy S

They stole my cashier check. They refused to return the check so that I could get my money back. Who holds on to checks? I offered to send them proof that it was mine and they said I would have to mail it because they do not have an email address. Theft. They tried hard to not help with any solution that could help us both.Review from Brian V

Avoid getting a loan from them at all costs. If anyone is looking to buy a vehicle make sure that you do not use Santander ***. They act wonderful until you payoff your loan and try and get your title. They come up with charges and fees that you knew nothing about totaling ****** dollars that has to be paid before they will give you a lien release. I have been in contact with them on several different occasions and every time I get a different time frame it will be before I receive my lien release. Right now its been 25 days and counting.Review from Tee M

My payment was returned never notified experienced hardship Novembers car repossessed never received notice to cure. Talk with customer service numerous times they never mentioned notice to cure and advised me they couldnt accept any payment unless it was due to Covid ??!!! Not given much information and now required to pay loan in full although I was never notified of any of these things.Review from Andrea G

Call my phone all the time. They have the wrong number and I have asked repeatedly for them to put me on the do NOT call list. They call , I say,hello, they linger on the phone in silence with background noise , yet never speak. Weird, annoying, rude, or connection issues either way, 1 star , who the heck are you guys? I dont know you nor do I conduct business with you.Review from Carrie N

My bank account got hacked and my car payment didnt go through for November and now I have a late payment on my account this company is horrible. Trying to buy a house know my credit is ruined, I did everything to catch up with my payment and I communicated with Sandander and they told me my late payment wouldnt go to collections.
