I agree with one star review. There customer service is the worst. It is impossible to speak to someone on the phone. I set on hold for thirty minutes just to speak with a person who verified my identity then placed me on hold. I will be moving my account ****.Review from Moriah R

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a fraudulent activity on my joint account with my mother and brother. On **September 17th**, my mother received a text message asking if she had authorized a purchase at *******. She immediately contacted the number on the back of her CUTX debit card. The representative requested the last 3 digits of her card number to deny the charge, but since she was unable to provide that information, the representative stated that the charge would be denied.Following this, I experienced issues logging into my CUTX app. Upon investigating, I discovered that **thousands of dollars had been transferred from my savings account to an unknown individual, ******, without my authorization or acknowledgment. **** has been unable to provide clear details on how this transfer occurred. I have since initiated a fraud case for myself, my mother, and my brother, but to my dismay, the claim was denied, with the implication that my mother authorized the transfer. However, **** has failed to provide evidence of how this transaction was authorized or trace the movement of ******** is unacceptable to be left without answers, especially when our funds are missing. I demand a thorough investigation into this matter and a prompt resolution, as I will not accept the denial of our fraud claim without proof or transparency regarding how this transfer occurred.Review from Jennifer W

Don't fall on hard times with this credit union. My husband had surgery and was out of work for 2 months. My personal loan (balance of ********) fell 1 day past the 30days past due date and they locked ALL of my accounts for ******* after I paid them the ***** payment. They have no concern for their customers and don't care one bit if you have been a customer for many years with never an issue until this one. They freeze all you money and say I'm sorry, but that is how it is when you call them to remind them that this is the first time ever this has happened. If you can bank anywhere else, do so.This company could not care less about you.Credit Union of Texas Response

CUTX Chief Risk Officer spoke with ************* on Saturday morning. Member was upset that **** locked her accounts when her personal loan became 31 days past due, as **** knew of her husbands surgery and their temporary struggles. Chief Risk Officer advised that he understood her frustration, apologized for the inconvenience, and attempted to explain that the practice was in place to safeguard the Credit Union when loans become past due. The Chief Risk Officer asked what CUTX could do to make it up to her, but ************* was not willing to discuss further. As a result of this review, Credit Union of Texas is re-evaluating procedures and the timing related to limiting access to associated accounts in these situations. iReview from Kevin C

I spoke with ***************** at the DeSoto branch on 8-12-2024 about overdraft fees I incurred ($570.68) depositing checks in the *** DRIVE THRU MACHINE because funds weren't released because of obvious equipment malfunction. She informed me that the bank policy was to only reimburse 3 overdraft transactions per year. She eventually reimbursed 2 of the transactions and another associate reimbursed 1. I was frustrated to explain to her that it was no fault of my own and that I expect a full refund for the fees. She gave me information to contact a branch manager but I got the impression it would be pointless to contact him until I filed this complaint. Therefore, he can respond to the complaint and hopefully take accountability for the mishap of the company's faulty equipment.Credit Union of Texas Response

Terrible customer service. I have been helping my mom to transfer her money out and close her account and despite multiple requests to close the account, it has remained open and they continue to charge overdraft fees. And then an $18 fee to pay over the phone to bring account to $0 balance!Processes for doing business are severely antiquated and I've been way happier at Chase. Website is also totally worthless.Credit Union of Texas Response

I have had an account with them 2 years trying to build a bank relationship. Over the time I have had many CD loans more then an *****. I also have had other programs that they offer to build relationships and was successful with all of them but no matter what the level of respect and understanding and customer service was not give at any point of time of me having my account. I had my account a year before I was able to deposit cash in atm the features most consumers use banks accounts for I wasnt able to use for reasons they couldnt explain or care to and that goes for any of my concerns or problems I have had over the time of having my account. It like my business was worthless to credit union of Texas. My time and effort Trying to build a business relationship with them was pointless and hate that I gave them a chance.Credit Union of Texas Response

Worst Credit Union Ever!!! I had 1 returned payment due to fraud that they were aware of. They froze my account 100% and will not allow me to make online payments going forward. The "manager" told me I would have to physically visit the branch, which I am in a completely different state so that's impossible or I would have to mail a check every month until my loan was paid off. I have never been late on a payment in the year and a half using them. Stay very far away from CUTX and their horrible customer service... Way to conduct business..Credit Union of Texas Response

We were able to connect with the member today. She was pleased with the response and help. Our card services managers offered to have her call him if she had any further concerns or questions. We reinstated her PNM and she will be making her payment today. She explained that the return happened due to fraud, and she had forgotten to change the info. She also accepted the return fee as she understood it was on her end. She did speak about her frustration and unwillingness to fly to Texas for this and was grateful that we recognized that she has always been on auto pay and only had this issue the one time. We value your membership and hope for the opportunity to regain your trust.
