  On February 5, 2022 I went into Las Palmas ** in northeast ******* with a broken ankle. It was determined I would need surgery: a surgeon was supposed to come right away but never showed. The ** doctor gave me a referral to a doctor at Orthopaedic Surgeons Associates.On Monday, February 7th I called the main office to get an appointment. I told the receptionist I had a referral from Las Palmas ** because I had a broken ankle. She asked which of their 3 offices would I like to go to, I said I live in the northeast so she set my appt in the northeast with ***************. She never asked about the extent of my injury. When I arrived at my appt the first thing *************** said to me was I dont know why they sent you here, I cant do anything for you.*************** proceeded to tell me that ***************** located at their main clinic would positively be able to do my surgery since she is one of their best orthopedic surgeons. He went on and on how good she was compared to the surgeons at ************************** His office set me up to see her the next day. I went to the appt at ********** clinic. ***************** said she was not skilled enough to do my surgery and that it was a very difficult surgery (which was a lie confirmed by 2 other orthopedic surgeons). She went on and on how good the surgeons were at UMC totally opposite of what her colleague had said the day before. She dismissed me after charging me $280.00.I am requesting a full refund and zeroed out bill for what I paid *************** since it was the receptionists fault I was sent to the wrong office. I am also requesting a full refund for what I paid to ***************** since her colleague lied about her ability to perform surgery on my ankle. I would not have gone to her if *************** had not lied about her ability as a surgeon AND he also slandered the doctors at UMC to sway me.They took advantage of me while I was heavily medicated for the pain in my ankle. I believe they shunned me because I had no health insurance.
