Our house flooded on Xmas eve last year, IG was referred by a friend. They came out, talked to our insurance company and got an amount approved for around $17,000 they did a few things (I have photos/videos emails & an itemized bill) a few days later, as soon as we left to go to a hotel, IG stopped working.. a week or two later, we fired them & hired a new contractor to finish the job. We offered to pay IG for the work they had done (added up to a little over $3000 according to their itemized bill) however IG sent us a bill for around $17,000 (the amount, if they had finished the job) this included the cost of packup/moveout/storage of our furniture and personal items. That the owner authorized without our permission & was put in a storage unit under the owners personal name & has been held from us, for almost a year (until the full payment has been made) we told them repeatedly, we have no problem paying them for the work they 'did' but absolutely will not pay them for work they 'didn't do' since we had to pay the rest of the money to the new contractor, to finish the job. (Again we have several emails/photos etc. as proof) the itemized bill they sent is full of 'made up' charges to create the illusion that we owe more than we actually do. For example, they said they removed carpet and did water extraction in rooms that didn't even have carpet..and over inflated costs for packup/moveout/storage.. in which the insurance company told us to tell IG to just send them the invoices for that & the insurance company would cut them a check within two days. IG refused to do that, asking us to front them the reimbursement & have the insurance company pay us back..but they won't provide us the invoices to submit. We don't have money to get an attorney to get our stuff back & IG recently turned us over to a collection agency for over $11,000. Please help, we don't know what else to do. My mother is about to be 80 years old and this has created a lot of unnecessary stress.

The original complaint is correct that we still have their personal belongings stored. We still are paying storage fees every month. We have sent them the invoice for the work performed , they just refused to pay so I hired an attorney and turned over to collections and they have filed a BBB complaint to retaliate. All they have to do is pay their bill. I will be happy to post it here but she said they have the invoice for work performed and only for work performed and they received the entire settlement payment for the work from their insurance company but did not pay us for the work performed by us.
