    I went to Star Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in ******, ** after sustaining an injury to my neck, trapezius muscle, back/spine area. The nurse practitioner ****** is who was seeing me. She even mentioned the word trap for trapezius muscle when I showed her where the severe pain was. They did an Xray at the first visit of my SHOULDER. They ordered an MRI of my SHOULDER. This shoulder is a bone that is different from the trapezius muscle which is a much larger area that includes the neck and back. I never had pain in my SHOULDER BONE. So I got radiation from the Xray and MRI on the wrong body part!! When I went there again I saw the doctor for the first time. ************ walks in and says GOOD NEW! There was nothing wrong with your shoulder :) and I told him ya of course theres not- I dont have any pain in my shoulder bone. And proceeded to point to the areas of my neck and back where it hurt. Instead of saying Im so sorry we did the wrong area, instead of conducting a physical exam of the correct areas, instead of ordering imaging for the right areas, he tells me I have nothing for you. When I went there the first day, I asked them AM I IN THE RIGHT PLACE FOR MY ISSUE? and the PA and PA assistants said yes. Leading me to believe they handle NOT ONLY BONES but muscles/tissues/nerve injuries as well. This company has also continuously sent me ****s and tried to charge a copay every time I went even though I have a primary and secondary insurance- even though I have ******** as my secondary insurance who covers all copays and youre not allowed to **** ******** recipients. I have contacted the ****ing office who told me contradicting information with the front office staff. And theres still an outstanding amount that Im not sure when will get resolved and when I need to follow up. ****** reviews show this place as a money grab. My complaint is the doctor not remedying that they made a mistake and imaged the wrong area. Didnt offer to image the right area!

    The patient mentioned two complaints in her response and one desired settlement.

    1. The patient mentioned not agreeing with her treatment plan and that the doctor should have ordered the correct imaging. The patient was treated appropriately per the treating physician's treatment plan for the complaint she arrived to the office with. The correct imaging was ordered based on her complaint and physical exam that was performed by the PA at the initial visit. The doctor stands by his clinical recommendations for the patient.

    2. The patient has complained on our billing. We utilized a third-party billing company and they have been notified of her complaint.

    Resolution: The patients billing was reviewed, and she does not have a patient balance on her file.
