My car went into the shop at ******************** in ********** just before Christmas 2024. I already had a payment arrangement with Dallas Auto for late January payment due to financial hardship. They were working with me on this and were all good on waiting until after my car was out of the shop for me to make payment. I got a random text from someone at there dealership two weeks ago being rude telling me that I couldnt have my payment out so long and I explained to them that I spoke to someone already at the dealership and they know where the car is just so they know Im not lying about my car being down. The car repair bill was $700 in which I sent the dealership the bill so to just keep them informed and I just couldnt pay both at the same time. The dealership told me to not worry they will just put my account on hold. However the random number that kept texting me was not budging on harassing me about a payment. In fact, I received a call from the Auto shop mid last week asking if I knew where the car was because they saw a wrecker pick up the car from their yard on a Monday night after hours. They did not speak with the shop owner and violated several Texas Laws here along with the bill not being paid and no communication with the shop owner. The shop owner contacted them after I gave him the dealership phone number and they told him to email them the bill and they would take care of it. Then as he checked on it as soon as did I again this Monday, They did not pay the bill. He even still has the key to the car. Please assist with this matter.Business response

She was repossessed after being MORE THAN 30 days past due. We are not responsible for any money she owes anyone else. She had a free Labor Warranty with our shop, and still chose to take her car to a Retail mechanic shop that she couldn't afford to pay. I got my car from Dallas autos 4 less on September 11 2024.put $1000 down and Ive only made 1 payment towards my account and on October 2nd the car was no longer drivable due to a issue with the transmission. I called Dallas autos 4 less that Monday abt the check engine light being on and they told me to bring the vehicle in on the 2nd for service, but as I stated the vehicle stopped running by then and I was not able to get it back to the dealers and I stay about a hour away so paying a tow was out of the question. I had to get it to a mechanic near me and they informed me that they can tell the transmission control module was not fixed properly on the vehicle and that it tried to either be fixed before or that someone didnt know how to fix it properly and just did enough to get the car sold. I contacted Dallas autos 4 less about the car not being able to make it there for servicing because it stopped running and that I was going to be out of pocket paying to get it fixed and Ive only had the car about 2 or 3 weeks and I would like to get a credit to my next payment or reimbursement for having to come out of pocket for repairs and they told me no. My car has been in the shop 2 weeks and my second payment is now coming up and I feel scammed and ripped off by this business. I was sold a vehicle they knew *** have issues as soon as I left the lot.Business response

If you just purchased the car the repair is FREE. All you need to do is get the car to us so that we can fix it. You say we knew the car had a issue? How does it benefit us to sell a car with a known issue if we are going to have to fix it regardless when you bring it back in? That makes no sense at all. So, now that you know that we obviously DID NOT knowingly sell the car with an issue, lets get to the Scammed part of your complaint. How is it that we are scamming you if we will fix the car for FREE? You just need to bring it to us. Its a used car. They break. No car dealership in the world can buy and sell perfect used cars. Thats why we fix ALL repairs in the first 30 days FOR FREE. As for your car payment, we have nothing to do with that. You will need to contact your finance company about that.
You put ***** miles on the car in the 2 weeks you owned it. If the car had a known issue, it would have happened the day after you bought the car, not 1500 miles later. If you will get the car to our shop, we will fix it for FREE.

I am rejecting this response because: How am I going to get a vehicle back to your business if the car stop running? You offer free repairs but didnt repair my car when I called and let you guys know that it stopped running. As far as the mileage on my vehicle I didn't put ***** miles in a week. lol YOU HAVENT SEEN MY VEHICLE SINCE I GOT IT SO HOW WLD YOU KNOW? The furtherest I have drove the vehicle is from your lot and back to my house!
I definitely been SCAMMED! BECAUSE THERE WAS MORE THINGS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AS WELL. THERE WAS A LEAK OF ANTIFREEZE , THE ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION, AND A LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE THROTTLE BODY. I WAS DEFINITELY SCAMMED BECAUSE YOU GUYS RIGGED THE CAR ENOUGH TO GET IT SOLD KNOWING IT WAS GOING TO LATE HAVE ISSUES THATS WHY YOU OFFER FREE REPAIRS BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU THE VEHICLES YOU SELL ARE GOING TO NEED CONTINUED MAINTENANCE! On June 8., 2024 I purchased a used vehicle from ******* who works for Dallas Auto 4 Less. On that day I gave $500 down then on June 13, 2024 I gave another $500 down for a total of a $1000 down payment. Then I have made two on time payments the first was June 21, 2024 in the amount of $******and the second July 5, 2024 in the amount of ******. The 2007 Dodge Durango stopped on the side of the road on my way to ***************** on June 29, 2024. I called Dallas Auto 4 less that day and they were no help. I was able to get the vehicle towed back to my home in Dallas. On Monday July 1, 2024 I called Dallas Auto 4 less and spoke with ******* in the service department. She told me I was responsible for getting the vehicle to them and they would take care of it because it was still within the 30 days. They have done nothing but give me the run around and now a week later now that my 30 days are up they are trying to find out who is at fault for the blown engine. I either want the money back that I have paid into the Durango or another vehicle. I feel that they were well aware of the issue with the engine and failed to tell me about it. I have video of what it looked like after it overheated and stopped running.Business response

This customer lied on her application regarding her employment. She does door dash which means she's using the vehicle for commercial use. She drove ***** miles in 3 weeks. We do have a commercial use program but it is a $2,500dn, $200wk short term contract to be able to absorb the extreme miles being put on the vehicle. Had she been honest with us about her employment she would not have been approved unless she purchased under our commercial use contract. If she wasn't in breach of contract, we would have fixed her vehicle at no charge. In order to keep the vehicle she will need to pay for the cost of the engine and we will pay for the labor.Initial Complaint

I started financing a vehicle through Dallas Auto 4 Less in February 2024. On May 16, 2024 I got into a vehicle accident that was not my fault. The insurance company of the woman that hit me has been taking care of everything for me in relations to getting my car fixed. They paid Dallas auto for less' repair shop over $4000 for repairs on the vehicle. The insurance company has paid for a car rental for me until my car repairs were finished. Today when we called to see when the car will be fixed they informed me that my car was in repossession. When I asked why they said it was because I was behind on my payments over $2000. When I spoke to them previously in May, I specifically asked them if I would have to pay my car note in addition to getting it towed to the repair shop and she replied to me that I wouldn't have to pay anything until the car was repaired, which I have a text message of. The person I have been in correspondence with via text has been very rude and condescending ever since the car wreck has happened. They are constantly asking me if they need to pick my car up or if I wanted a repossession of my vehicle. They were constantly texting me after I asked them to stop because my attorney was getting involved. They were constantly laughing and harassing me after I asked them to stop texting me. The way these people correspond through their text messages is very nasty and unprofessional and they need to be investigated immediately. I also believe I was given a fake name when I asked for that info to report them. They are constantly lying about things and telling me nobody told me things that were clearly told to me in the messages. Furthermore, it is completely unethical to repossess someone's vehicle that they weren't even in possession of due to an accident. They did not inform ANYONE that the car was fixed and never told me about a repossesion until I called and asked about it. I have received no calls, texts, emails or anything! This customer hasn't made a car payment in 2 *********/07/24). She was repossessed for not making her car payments. Furthermore, now that her car is ready, she does not have the $2k that she is in arrears for not making her car payment for 2 months and the impound/tow fee.
On June 12th we sent her a text asking if she needed to get any possessions out of the vehicle. She said, "No i got what i needed already."
If she wants to bring the $2k that she owes, we will give her the vehicle back.

I am rejecting this response because: The business failed to mention the fact that I was in an auto accident that I was not at fault of. Please note that if I had the $2k I would be taking my business elsewhere as they are very rude and unprofessional. When they asked me did I get my possessions out of the car they never mentioned a repossession. Very poor communication skills on their part. Terrible company. I first paid and picked up my vehicle on 02/17/2024. I started experiencing issues with the gear not wanting to shift and had me stuck in the middle of traffic on day three (02/20/2024). I gave the dealership a call and I was advised to bring the vehicle in as soon as I could. So, with the car lot being almost an hour away and due to me being in nursing school and could not miss any days I let them know that I would bring it in on Saturday 02/24/2024. While in the process of me in route to taking the vehicle the check engine like came on and it started smoking and the smoke was coming in through the air vents, so I gave them a call and informed them of the issues and to let the know that I didn't feel comfortable driving the vehicle that far with that type of issue. So, the following week they had me to bring in the vehicle. When I got there all they did was hook it up to tell me the issue had something to do with the thermostat and they will order the parts and call me when the parts came. On 04/02/2024 they had me drop off the vehicle and said to give them until 04/04/2024. On 04/04/2024 I called to see if my vehicle was ready, and they said they had no idea my vehicle was even there, and they would start working on it. After about an hour I received a call saying to come get my vehicle that they couldn't fix it because the parts they ordered was damaged. I asked for a loaner because I had already missed my cousin's funeral in ********, and I had my aunt's funeral coming up that Saturday and I was told no our loaners won't make it to ********. So, they ordered the parts (and didn't even notify me that they were in) I give them a call and they tell me to bring in the vehicle on 04/18/2024 and I picked it up on 04/19/2024 and the vehicle is still smoking while coming through the vents and will not properly go in gear. I was told they i would receive a call on Monday 04/22/2024 but have yet to receive that call.Business response

I have made several attempts to get a car from this car lot. Every single time I go they claim I don't make enough or haven't been on my job for a long period of time. I have been working at the school for 4 years and ******* 10 years and Amazon 6 months. I sent my co worker in who is of another race who just started at ******* and she left with a car the same day. I'm filing this complaint because they have racial profiled me twice and I don't think that is far. I deserve the same respect and treatment like everyone else.Business response

**************, We require 3 things in order to get approved for Bad Credit Auto Financing:
1. Minimum $2,500 net income
2. At least 3 months on the job
3. Pic ID
Your main job as a teacher did not meet the minimum income requirement. With your other 2 jobs, you were not able to show us at least 3 months consecutive job time with either job.
You are not a victim of anything here. For you to say you were not approved due to race is not only baseless, but it is completely untrue. Black Americans make up a majority of our customer base. That accusation is not only silly, its slanderous.
Just because you do not get the answer you want to hear doesn't mean it has anything to do with the color of your skin. We are in the business of selling cars. Its vital to our success. The color of someones skin is completely irrelevant.

I purchase a vehicle from Dallas Auto 4 Less 11/28/2023 and 2 days later the vehicle was brought back for overheating. So they kept my vehicle for 3 weeks for repairs after the 3 week I picked up the vehicle and then 4 days later the same problem so they ended up keeping it for 2 weeks. And then a week later the same ongoing issue happens again to where it's been doing the same issue over and over. And now here we are February 9th I had to take the vehicle back for the same problem and I was told today as of February 11 that I have to replace the engine out of my own pocket. They knew the vehicle from the beginning that it needed to be replace and ran game on me. I asked them can I have copies of the work order that was done on the car the lady that does service said yes and then when I came back in the building the lady said that the mechanic said I can't have a copy of it because I didn't pay to get the work done on it. They treated to call the police on because I wouldn't leave. I couldn't get a loaner can unless I have ****. I do have one invoice they left in the car by mistakeBusiness response

We did the initial repair for free. Took a little longer than expected because it was during the Xmas/** holidays. Customer had a free loaner car to use. Customer picked up the car from repair on 01/11. On 01/26, over 2 weeks later customer called and said the vehicle "may" be overheating again. He was instructed not to drive the vehicle IF it was getting hot, and to bring us the vehicle asap under warranty. Customer finally brings us the vehicle on 02/09, 2 weeks after calling about possible overheating, driving over 650 miles in that time. Once we looked at the vehicle it was determined that because of the excessive driving while the vehicle was getting hot he cracked a head gasket. If he had brought us the vehicle as soon as it started over heating, the repair would have been free. Because of user negligence, its a $4k repair for a new engine. We told him we would do free labor and only charge him $2,500.Customer response

That's false no one informed nobody about not driving no car for overheating. The first the vehicle was repaired it was mention that vehicle May overheat and it did just that and the vehicle was brought back for the 2nd time. And after that second time you can add no 650 miles from the time now to overheating, because the vehicle took a week to start overheating again. I always mention it all 3 times about the car overheating and I also told the mechanic it might be the head gasket to cause the overheating cause white smoke was coming out, but he argue me up and down saying no it's not. And every time I came he don't even remember what was done to car all 3 times the vehicle was brought in. Yea they give you a free loaner car but the loaner cars worth a piece of trash they all have check engine lights on. And mention to them when my wife was driving the car with my kids in the vehicle it always shut off while she was driving and when I tried to talk to someone they thought the situation was funny and made me upset because how would they feel if a vehicle shuts off while there family driving it. And they threaten to call the police on me. And they knew it was something going on with the vehicle because they all laughed every time I went up there and was saying thing they still have that messed loaner car. The vehicle was brought in 3 times for the overheating problem since the vehicle was purchased on 11/28/2022. And the issue still wasn't fixed. They didn't want to do the labor because the mechanic clearly said that was a lot of labor to do when I kept mention it to him that it could be the head gasket from the beginning. Maybe if you mechanic stuff stop joking and drinking around maybe people cars would get fixed right.Customer response

He's just making stuff up. Most of his response is fabricated. Bottom line, he drove the car while it was overheating until he blew the motor. This is user negligence. He says we didn't want to do the labor, but we told him we would give him free labor on installing the new engine. The new engine install is $4k. We told him we would only charge him $2,500. Its "common sense" that if a vehicle is OVERHEATING, YOU DON'T DRIVE IT. It was overheating the day he drove it the shop this last time. He knowingly drove the vehicle while it was overheating. I don't have time to sit and make stuff up...
If I brought the vehicle back for the same problem over and "COMMON SENSE" would tell them that didn't fixed the problem. And what I was told that would have have to pay **** dollars upfront before I can get an engine and pay the rest out of payments with the car not. And I even ask could would get a loaner car and the response was no not til I come up with the **** dollars. Like how my wife suppose to get to work and take children to school. I even asked could I get records showing what has been fixed on the vehicle and the response was that he said no because you didn't pay to get it fixed. Like they love throwing we did and doing it for FREE in your face. When I have questions like at this I rather had paid for someone to do the labor then get it for free cause that FREE GET TREATED LIKE ITS FREE. got a Gray 2013 ****** Pathfinder 12/30/22 an the transmission started slipping the next following day I tried calling but due to New Years I had to wait til 01/02/23 to call ******* but someone answered an said he off on Tuesday' s an that night the check engine light came on so I went to AutoZone to get it checked an the Codes basically said the transmission needed repaired so I call the next day an spoke with Him an he told me the service department was close on Wednesday so I took it upon myself to just pull up to the car lot to tell them was going on thinking I would at least get another car but NOOO they told me it got to get a diagnostics so they can see what's wrong with it but I owed $400 more on my down payment but I was asking for 5 more days so I can have time to actually see what's wrong with the truck they said NOO an if I don't pay the truck going in RePo status but how an the truck supposedly be in the shop an they still never told me what's wrong with the truck I even said I was pay a late fee if I have to an they still denied my offer an now they saying my account in default an the truck has been repo I asked how an it's in the shop an she said she repo it from the truck so I'm stuck with no car once again an they are very rude an act like I messed the truck up myself in 24hours an they wouldn't give me my down payment backBusiness response

**************** transmission started having issues a few days after he bought it. He dropped it off and was given a loaner car free of charge. We sent the vehicle to the transmission shop to have a new transmission installed for ****************** Free of Charge. He was informed by the service advisor AND the manager that we were putting a new transmission in his vehicle free of charge.
His finance company had to put his account in default because he refused to make his deferred down down that was due within 7 days of his purchase. He also refused to bring the loaner car back as requested and it had to be repossessed as well. Just because a car is being serviced/repaired doesn't mean the customer doesn't have to make their car payments, especially when they are in a loaner car and have no problem getting to and from work.Customer response

No I don't accept the response from the car lot because they said a banded the vehicle now they said I was returned the vehicle which one is it an they put it on credit saying I owe them for the truck I had for 4days an want let me pay to get the truck back or nothing if yall gone take the truck an my down payment y'all shouldn't be trying to put me in debt for a car y'all sold me an the transmission go out literally da next day that's not right an y'all was real rude about the situation like I did something to y'all I even ask for another car with a cheaper down payment after I returned the truck because I know y'all finna put a brand new transmission in a old used truck if y'all rebuild the transmission I'm still gone have the same problem in the future they can have the down payment an truck but I need it off my credit it's making it hard for me to get a new car that I really need!!!!

I'm really not understanding much of what he said, but the bottom line is this: He was told multiple times that we were putting a new transmission in his vehicle FREE of charge. He refused to pay the remaining down payment he owed withing the 7 days he agreed to pay it in. He was repossessed for a non-payment. He also refused to return the loaner car we gave him for free. He also pulled a gun on the repo driver trying to pick up our loaner car.Customer response

Can they show any proof that they told me what was wrong with the truck I told them what I think was wrong with the truck I got all the texts an email they was only calling about the down payment an they did repo the loaner so how did I pull a gun out an y'all towed the loaner at 3am I was sleep so y'all saying I'm the only supposed to lose an y'all sold me a lemon(a truck that the transmission go out the next day) an y'all trying to put me in debt for a lemon I had for 4 days an I just readed the reviews I'm not the only person an they deleted my review
