My solar panels were installed September 2022, but as of 2/1/23, they still are not working and the company, ************ has completely ghosted me. I am unable to get any return calls and the numbers I have are no longer in service for them. I am making payments on something that does not work as promised. As well, they installed a faulty breaker that could have burned my home down and still have not heard anything from them to fix that issue.Business response

Unless there is something that I am not aware of, the system has been fully installed. GetSolarize office personnel have not sent in whatever paperwork is required to the electric coop to have the system inspected and commissioned. Also, if this is due to a third party contractor, why is GetSolarize not returning my calls and the telephone numbers I have to contact them are no longer in service.Initial Complaint

I am writing to BBB to complain on the GetSolarize company (Electrical contractor). (1) I have entered into a signed and executed contract with GetSolarize to install and activate Tesla Solar Panels on my home on 03/26/2022. As per the contract "GetSolarize" is supposed to install and activate 23 Tesla Solar Panels with Model Number 'T400' for a total system capacity of 9.2kW. (2) The contractor installed Solar panels on 7/22/2022 and the system was activated on 8/25/2022. (3) I observed that my power production from Solar was not as per promised capacity in the month of Sep and Oct 2022. Therefore I inspected the installed Solar Panels and found that the Installed Solar Panels were different than the model that I had in written agreement. Get Solarize installed 23 Tesla 'T395' model Panels. (4) These T395 Solar panels are rated for lower power production than the T400 Solar Panels. Effectively the system installed in my home is under powered (5) I was never told that a lower system capacity Solar Panels were being installed on my home and never agreed to install lower capacity panels. (6) I have reached out to the contractor about this discrepancy on 10/20/2022 and the contractor agreed that they installed T395 panels but that they are producing enough electrical power. (7) I have followed up with the contractor again on 10/31/2022 to rectify this mistake and contract breach and asked them to install the correct solar panels 'T400' as per the executed contract. (8) The contractor has stopped responding to my emails. They have not responded to my last 2 email followups asking them to fix and install the correct panels. (9) Till this date the contractor has not fixed the problem and stoped responding to me. (10) I have a signed contract with GetSolarize for $50,600 USD to install 23 T400 model Solar Panels. (11) This money was financed through the ******** Financials Bank and GetSolarize received the full money.Initial Complaint

We had solar panels installed through this company in November 2022. When a rep/tech came to turn on or initialize the panels on December 21, 2022 he informed me that only 24/25 panels were working. He let me know he would be out the next week to fix it, and that I would also be getting an email about how to set up an app for my phone to monitor the panels. It is January 9th, and no one has come out to fix the panel that is not producing, nor have I gotten an email with information to setup the app. I have called, emailed, texted, left messages through the website and to the owner Matt himself. I have yet to receive any response other than the one Matt sent me on December 29th stating, "I am out of town right now and when I get back next week, I will look into it." I have yet to hear from him or the company. I would like my panel to be fixed, information to set the app up, and someone who I can reach out to in the future should adjustments or repairs included in the warranty be needed.Initial Complaint

I worked with get solarized in order to get solar installed in my home. The wait was horrible and communication during this time was even worst. As an incentive I was told I would get the first year covered and I agree to go ahead and do the install. I have have the solar for two three month and prices haven't been what was told to me. But most of all our first year is now not being covered after being promised. This from the beginning. The whole company sounds like they were fired and now they said they can't honor it because it was a different manager at the time. The (customer service) manager now is extremely and even hung up on me after I asked to speak to someone in charge. I believe his name is Naik or something like that. He shouldn't be answering calls if he doesn't know how to speak with customers. I have ton of referrals that I will not be giving this company due to lack on communication and down right bad business. I will like them to honor what was told to me for a year free of payments. If there is an actual manager that I can speak instead of the incompetent "customer service" who decides to hang up on me that would be great.Business response

Get Solarize Company sent inexperienced workers to install solar panels, and those employees put in a solid four days of work. My roof was destroyed including plywood that was full of holes. After two and half month had passed, nobody had responded to my emails. They continually saying to be working on it. After I sent multiple emails and received no answer, they say that there is no time to respond to me. They removed the inverter and all of the panels to their warehouse and again he sent a notice of intent lien to me without doing any work and completing work. Now he is saying that I don't have panels what I have signed in the contract. Even if I sign a new contract and don't like what he is offering, he won't do my roof work. Due to his(Kevin **, CEO) work, I am becoming mentally stressed. Please help me.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 26, 2022/12/16) */ We have reached out to the homeowner to resolve this issue. He entered into a new contract with us in October. We repaired his roof using his roofer to appease him. His roofer took 3 weeks to get him on the schedule for repair. We explained to the homeowner that we were expecting the delivery of the panels but did not get confirmation from our vendor. There are shipping delays everywhere and we did warn him about this. At this point, we will continue to work with Mr. ******** to complete his job. Consumer Response /* (3000, 28, 2022/12/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They threatened to send me a lien document if I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau website before they finished the solar work.Initial Complaint

A free quote for solar panels was given. The roof did not pass ********** for solar panels. They did recommend a roofer, he came out but never called with quote. I called the company about cancellation, being that roof has not been fixed and now they are charging me $1000.00. They never did anything, plus roof failed inspection. I don't understand why they are changing me.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/03) */ The customer stated that no work was done which is inaccurate. A site survey was completed along with solar designs being created. We tried to contact the customer several times but the customer never returned our call. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) All companies state a site inspection is a requirement. The roof must be in good condition to support PV panels. The average weight of most residential solar panels is around 40 pounds. These panels plus mounting hardware add about 3 to 4 pounds per square foot of load to your roof. This weight isn't much but is capable of destabilizing roofs that are in poor condition. PV modules are also flat, making them susceptible to strong winds. Strong winds might blow off your panel if you anchor it to a deteriorated or rotted roof. Roofs require inspect for potential damages before mounting solar panels. Vital aspects you should check include: Shingles Vents Underlayment Flashing Damaged trusses, leaks, mildew, streaks, and cracked shingles. So, a site inspection is required by law! At the time of the site inspection my roof failed the inspection. Why would you start making panels, if inspection failed?
