  We hired ****** **** ***** to install a new **** unit into our home and move it into the attic space in November 2023. We paid him $8,000. We are remodeling the whole house and did not turn on the new **** unit until our floors were installed in April 2024. Once the **** was running we noticed high humidity issues daily. On average, the house had 77% humidity on any given day. Beginning in May/June I texted ****** multiple times to come out and work on the unit as we started seeing condensation on our air vents and foggy windows. He came out to work on the unit twice, as they guarantee their work for a year. However, he could not get the humidity down below 60 and we were still having condensation issues. He told me I should just accept the humidity levels because his house is always humid. At this point, I consulted another licensed **** contractor for a second opinion and he told me that the unit ****** installed was oversized, which was causing the humidity issues due to it never running because the unit was so large. ****** installed a 5 ton unit on our 1800 square foot house, even though a 3 ton unit would have been appropriate. When I told ****** this, he wanted me to pay an additional $6500 to replace the unit with the correct size. This is unacceptable as I already paid him money to do the work correctly the first time. I then contacted his boss, *****, who told me they would replace just the condenser to see if that would help, but that it would cost me $3000. I tried to arrange multiple dates for them to come out and look at the unit and help me with it- however they stopped returning my texts and calls and never came back to help me with our ****. I had to hire another contractor to take out the unit and replace it with the proper unit, which cost me $10,000. The humidity issues in the house caused a whole host of issues that I have since had to pay to replace including repainting the walls and fixing out hardwood floors.
