This law firm didn't provide the services but they took ******** from my bank account. I submitted a dispute with my bank but the charge keeps coming back to the account. I am still working with the bank but I am having a hard time to remove the charge.

    Business response

    12/04/2024

This complaint was made by a third party and not by our client. Therefore, the complainant may not have complete knowledge of the facts. The firm fully intended to refund our client for their remaining retainer balance upon withdrawal but was unable to do so because the initial retainer payment had been disputed by the *****. This means that the credit card company reversed the payment and was holding the funds out of the firm's account pending resolution of the dispute. The dispute was successfully resolved and then appealed/disputed again by the *****, causing it to go through the investigation and resolution process twice. The dispute process is managed by the credit card company and the timeliness of resolution is solely within their control. Until the dispute was resolved and the funds were confirmed to be under the firm's control, we were unable to issue a refund. As of December 2nd, 2024 the funds were confirmed to be secure and a check was issued to the client for their remaining balance. We truly wish this could have been done months ago, but it was outside of our control.

    Complaint: 22612753

I am rejecting this response because:

Since the law firm said the complain was made by a third party (me) that means I have no obligation to pay them for any services provided to me personally. I do not authorize Carlson Law Firm to keep any money from my personal bank account.  I am not their client.

The original payment made on behalf of the client was authorized by the *****. At this time, the unexhausted funds have been returned to the client and there is no basis for any further refunds.

I am rejecting this response because: The law firm is  not telling the truth. There is no refund received by the client. I am not their client and do not authorize them to charge my personal bank account for any amount of money.

Attorney ***** Me as a client but still fraudulently representing me and charging me as if Im still a client.

    Business response

    12/13/2023

    Dear BBB

Due to attorney client privilege and my duty of confidentiality, I am unable to respond to the allegation made by ****************. I am attaching a copy The ***************************** for the State Bar of Texas Opinion 662 for your reference. I do disagree with the allegation made against me and I am unable to respond further. However, if *************** gives written consent waiving attorney/client privilege, then I would be able to respond in detail. Thank you.

    Complaint: 20991832

I am rejecting this response because:
attorney privilege has been signed and the fraudulent attorney has this document but refuses to accept the signed form.  I have attached it .

    12/26/2023

Despite attempts to reach ****************, they have still not signed a waiver of attorney client privilege, therefore, due to attorney client privilege and my duty of confidentiality, I am unable to respond to the allegation made by ****************. I do disagree with the allegation made against me.

    Complaint: 20991832

I am rejecting this response because:

Again, the attorney is supplying false information like she supplied the same false statements on 12/21/22 and proof will be supplied to the courts, the licensing board, and etc.  Ive already submitted the document I signed waiving rights that she supplied due to her lack of professionalism and unethical behavior.

    Regards,

Hired/ signed a contract with the Carlson Law Firm to represent me in a case "***********************". Everything was going well until certain documents were not obtained (medical records). The Law Firm case manager ******************************, from the South Austin Branch **************) essentially explained that everything will be placed on hold and the law firm will review if to continue or release me from the contract. After the discussion, I had an opportunity to review the whole situation, and decided to cancel the contract without penalty. On 5th April 2023, I sent an email to ******************* stating my request to cancel the contract. She responded with an email stating the case is on hold and are seeing if additional medical records can be obtained. She did not address my request to terminate the contract with no penalties. The case is in pre-litigation status.
