  I paid A&J Roofing (********************************* and *************************) over $16,000 to roof my home and provide other handy man services. After payment A&J Roofing would not show up for work and would not deliver any materials. ****************** and ******************** would come to my home under the pretense of starting work than demand more money. At one point ****************** demanded to see my insurance settlement and financial records. I told them that I had already paid them and refused to show them any records. Several weeks went by with no work being performed and no materials being delivered. When ******************** and ****************** finally came they performed some minor work, cut a hole in my roof and left. A&J had left a hole my roof, would not come to work and would not deliver roofing materials. Im 74 years old, in bad health and I didnt know what to do. I asked for help from my family and friends. I also consulted my attorney. I learned through public records that ****************** had a prior felony conviction for orchestrating home improvements schemes and that I was not the only person ******************** and ****************** had impacted. I spoke ******************** and told him I knew what was going on and that I had consulted my attorney. I also told him that it was suggested that I contact the police. The roof was installed approximately two weeks later.Looking at A&Js work I noticed that cheaper roofing materials had been substituted for the higher grade materials for which I had paid. In addition, A&J Roofing (********************************* and *************************) never completed the entire job. Im missing over a $1,200 of work and it will cost me much more money to bring in a new contractor.To settle this issue, I am asking for A&J Roofing to refund $1,200 for the uncompleted work. A cashiers check delivered by mail would be best because I dont want to see either ******************** or ****************** ever again.

  March 31th 2022 -Beginning May 31st 2022 -End Paid A&J Roofing and Remodeling $28,863.72 for vinyl siding, vinyl railings, tile, cement work and some other minor items. Contractor came to work a total of four days in a two month period. Contractor would not come to work. When they did come they arrived late and left early. Contractor rarely brought tools to perform tasks, used unskilled day workers and inferior materials. When contractor came they couldn't remember what task they were supposed to working. The contract damaged areas of house they were not supposed to be working on and than left the damage uncorrected. Contractor claimed they couldn't work on Mondays because crew was hung over. Contract indicated they they were coming to work and would not show up. Contractor would not call and when finally reached would make lame excuses for not coming to work. Contractor claimed to be spending thousands of dollars in materials but we never saw any of the materials. Contractor refused to produce receipts. Finally the contractor stopped coming. Contractor missed 11 consecutive business days. I asked the Contractor to come with receipts and materials; contractor claimed they could not. I told the contractor they were fired and I wanted my money back. -- Note Contractors' front man has a criminal record, multiple liens and has been previous convicted of talking advantage of consumers in home remodeling schemes. There's no question my mind that we were being scammed. It will cost me a significant amount of money to redo poor work and restart the project. I have collaborating witnesses and supporting document to support my complaint.
