    MD Pathology has sent me to collections twice and the bills have already been paid. I delivered a child in January 2023 and was billed for services during that time. This company changed billing services during the year. The old billing group will not answer the phone, the new billing company says they can only help with bills since they took over, MD Pathology will only send me to billing, and the collection agency is very nasty and says they dont correct issues and to pay the amount. My insurance also tried to call them but could not get any help. This bill has already been paid!! This company does not seem to know their business but the customer is left to make endless calls only to get treated badly and all parties say it not their job. Terrible business ethics and should not be in business if they are setting people up to fight for their credit when I have faithfully done my part and paid my bill- timely and months ago!!

    MD Pathology apologizes to this patient for the handling of her account.  We terminated our contract with Change Healthcare effective January 31, 2023 due to their ongoing poor handling of our patient accounts.  Change did not turn over the patient balances to Synerprise until August of 2023, causing even more problems with our patient accounts. 

    I spoke to the patient on Monday, September 18th about her accounts.  Change Healthcare did not apply the insurance payment to her account even though it was received and posted in our lockbox account.  I notified her at the time of our call that we do not report to the credit bureaus.  I forwarded all the information to Synerprise collection agency and the manager, *********************, reached out to the patient on the same day, Monday, September 18th, after researching the information and confirmed  that the accounts had been closed and nothing was owed.  A letter was sent to her indicating the same.   

    Again, we apologize for the poor handling of her account that was caused by Change Healthcare that was bought by Optum.  Our hopes is that our new billing service does not cause these same poor practices.
