We checked in late to Dolce Vita and while walking around the house we found c*** roaches inside and outside the house 3 of the toilets were leaking and loose and the water was cut off on two of these toilets showing it was a known issue. When we started settling in our son found a bed bug crawling on his bed and we called to report that and the other issues and they confirmed it did look like a bed bug and we let them know we would be getting a hotel. We were told that they could cover the hotel for the inconvenience.The next AM we went to the office with the bug we killed and they(******)confirmed it looked like a bed bug but claimed the person who needed to look at the issues was in a 1 hour zoom meeting with corporate and could not be bothered. After 5 hours we were called and told now that it wasnt a bug and all they would do was change the sheets and we could go back.This is the second house we have rented with this company that had problems and we wont be renting with them again. Dont be fooled by the nice pictures it is all staged and never as nice as it appears. We had toilets leaking, cabinets that were broken and held together by a rubber band, bugs everywhere outside and downstairs and a bed bug found in the bedroom, doors in some rooms that lead outside that wont close properly, the upstairs balcony is flimsy and flexes unsafely, floors are warped and flexing in the bathrooms upstairs due to previous leaking, the house was musty.After posting this We ended up getting a refund offer of the payment but the agreement was not for the full amount and also did not include the hotel stay we had to book after midnight which the operator after hours said they would cover. The stipulations for taking down for a full refund was to remove this review. This was with *****.The *** they wanted us to sign for a partial refund breaks laws, amendments, and FTA. It is illegal. I also have voicemail, pictures,emails -full refund agreed by homeowner.Review from Leah J

My **************** will never use Silver Sands **** Rentals again. First we were scheduled to drive on *************** during hurricane *****. I called on Saturday evening as we had to leave at 4AM Sunday morning. I had to call due to a lack of communication about the mandatory visitor evacuation. I had sent three emails over two days prior to calling without a response. I spoke to the office manager who told us in a recording "Don't Come" and promised SSVR would return our stay. I ensured the conversation was being recorded. Then I discussed our plans with the adults to ensure all our safety. I sent an email within that hour to SSVP confirming we would cancel and thanking them for the refund offer. We then canceled our hotel booked for Sunday evening and made other AirB&B arrangements for the week. Monday afternoon I received an email thanking us for checking in. ?? After several calls I spoke with a General Manager who still refused to honor the recorded message but would refund the 1 day due to mandatory evac. So we packed our bags and drove overnight. Arriving late Tuesday evening, we entered a filthy house. MA707- Mer Sea Azul Ignored emails Recorded word not honored - zero refund yet received 9 days post stay Filthy unmaintained house Unable to play in grass due to trash, ants and painful sticker burrs Unable to use pool - filthy bugs and grass clippings (no skimmer nets to self clean)Creepy Ring camera recording pool activity Used hand towel, dirty shower curtains ************ bottles left in both inside and garage refrigerator Visible dried food on & between furniture and kitchen utensils Broken furniture Ignored by General Manager and Office Manager Patio furniture too dirty to sit on and covered in ************ Dozens of pictures captured as evidence submitted to SSVR. A front desk lady by the name of **** responded via email and a phone call but as nice as she was, a refund has yet to be received.Review from Jerry B

I hired SSVR to manage 18 of my properties. The one year I used them was the worst financial year Id had financially. When I fired them, they stole my website and my property name which now directs internet searches to their website. *** hired an attorney for a cease and desist in this matter. Additionally, the damage waiver they collect from each guest is never used as intended. I had to spend thousands of dollars in repairs that should have been paid by SSVR. Im also lawyered up in this matter. Absolutely the worst management company in ************. So many other issues but not enough time to mention. Do yourself a big favor and DONT HIRE SSVR or use them for a vacation rental. You will be 100% disappointed if you do!Review from Anji M

We have had a horrible experience. We arrived and there were dirty water bottles, and drinks left on the front patio. We called immediately Upon arrival. They advise they would have housekeeping come by. The four days we were there, no one came by. The doorhandle leading out to the back patio and pool broke off. We called Maintenance three times to fix it. They kept telling us someone would come by no one ever showed up. We spent the entire vacation dealing with a broken door, going out to the main back patio. We will never rent from this property management company again. Absolutely insane that you spend that much money to get such terrible service. The other thing is every bathroom had one towel. We had to go buy towels just to get through our weekend and we had to wash numerous loads because there were not any cleaning supplies or Detergent or clean towels. Never again!!!! I am an owner of a property Silver Sands managed. They were unable to secure any bookings for 3 months and only one booking in the future. This level of non performance is unacceptable. I lost so much money signing with them. Im terminating with them which is going to cost me $1500. Im terminating a company that cant perform and they want me to pay them! They should apologize for their lack of performance and waive the termination fee because they under perform. Terrible experience. Stayed at **** and tonic in Port a . Advertised 2 king size ********* had one. Since it didn't say garage access then you couldn't use the garage. So we kept unloading two trucks full of expensive items. Called several times saying golf cart parked in wrong location. When it wasn't. No soap shampoo broom much of anything to use. Tried to call starting day one no call back ther than to say about owners upset about parking the golf cart in neighbors area. Told them again ***** has responded to my concers . Oh well attitude. I rented "The Best Little Shorehouse In *****" for a family vacation through Silver Sands Vacation Rentals for the week of 05/13/2023 to 05/20/2023. Upon our arrival, we found the house to not be very clean, with sand, dog hair, and dust on the floors. We later found that the outdoor shower did not work, and there was no propane for the fire pit. We also found that the was no hot water to the sink in one bathroom, as well as in the shower in a second bathroom. The disposal in the kitchen sink did not work, and had food debris in it. It was determined that it was also jammed. There were several burned out bulbs in the ceiling fixtures. The outdoor cushions were stained, dirty, and covered with dog hair. The outdoor grill looked as though it had never been cleaned. We tried to use the blender, only to find that it leaked all over the counter, as it had no sealing gasket. The air conditioning filter was filthy and clogged, and the ceiling registers were so dirty that they looked like they had soot on them, which also indicated that the ductwork needed cleaning. This condition aggravated both my son and daughter, who have asthma, and made them very uncomfortable. To add insult to injury, the interior of the house and outdoor seating area were infested with biting fleas and huge roaches, which was very gross. Maintenance did come and repaired the hot water issues, the disposal, changed the A/C filter, and provided a new propane tank for the firepit. I Emailed Silver Sands about all of these issues, and have not received a response to date, and don't really expect one. It was painfully obvious that the house had not been inspected prior to our arrival. All in all, it was an extremely disappointing experience. I would recommend that if you are considering renting through Silver Sands, DON'T DO IT1 YOU WILL BE VERY UNHAPPY IF YOU DO! It's clear we missed the **** on this occasion, and moving forward, we'll be sure to perform more thorough inspections before check-in. I'm also pleased to inform future guests that all of the amenities you mentioned have been addressed. We rented *********** townhome for the weekend. Everything was perfect until we found out that night that we didnt have hot water or a working stove to make dinner. I called the after hours maintenance line and of course no one answers. Maintenance finally shows up the next afternoon after several more calls and we had to be moved to another location after they tried to downgrade our stay and give us a smaller place! We spent all morning and afternoon re-packing and moving and unpacking all of our belongings to a new place. I feel like our visit was cut shorter than it already was and instead of having a relaxing vacation it was stressful and rushed. And we didn't want you to be inconvenienced any longer than you already were, so we moved you to the best available option. We, rented ******************************, TX.from June *****, 2022 . As soon as I, opened the door there were died roaches everywhere ! Water and sand where still in the main bathtub . We, took our shoes off at the front door and the floor was filthy ! I, rented this place for my 70 TH Birthday and I had family coming from ATL. and S. F. . I, was total embarrassed ! I, was excited to see my grandson whom I only get to see twice a year . Instead I, am rewashing every dish in the place . As I'm washing the first load of dishes . The garage disposal backs up and is full of food . No wonder there was Roaches everywhere ! The refrigerator had to be cleaned out , before I could put anything in it ! There was blood and left over food in the freezer ! The owner admitted to not sending house keeping over . I, replied to her that the beds were made and there were towels . This must be all they do . To cut cost on cleaning ! They advertise that there are TV in the bedrooms . I, went back and reread the reviews on SS site and these had been on going issues that the Slum Lord choose not to fix ! I, don't live in filth and should have to on my vacation . At over $4600. I, expected a clean place , but I guess that was just to much to ask with Silver Sands !!! The owner said that I only called twice while I, was there ! I, have my call log and I, sent it to the owner ! I, called two minutes after stepping into the place . One of my son's that travels the world to help other . Said it looked like someone had just checked out . And to come to find out the owner admitted it. I, haven't heard back from her ! No surprise there ! All she does is says sorry and then doesn't fix the problems ! I, even sent the own copies of the reviews on her site for her to reread ! The pool was also green and dirty ! The beds are wrapped in plastic that is older than me ! I, can only imagine how bad the beds were ! I, should have checked here before renting from SS .Silver Sands Vacation Rentals Response

I'm also sorry to hear about the dishwasher, and I've created a work order to have it and the televisions fixed. I've also given my home *******************, as we were short-staffed during your visit. Not true ! Is this Bella with Silver Sands or the home owner? I, went back and read the reviews on your place ! Please go to SS and you will be able to see pictures of the last review . You, can see other people complained about the filthy floors , the *** ,. There wasn't anything wrong with the dish washer . There was food left in the garbage disdispos and when . I, started the dishwasher the first time the food backed up into the sink . No wonder ***** are EVERYWHERE ! YOU, CHARGE A CLEANING FEE , BUT YOU DON'T CLEAN ! THAT IS FAUD !!! Your CommentsThis rental experience was an absolute nightmare! We travel to the Port A area often and have never had such a terrible time. Upon check in our beach house was not clean, however Im not a complainer so we just tidied it up a bit before unpacking. To my horror, the house was infested with roaches. When I say infested, it was bad. They were crawling all over the walls, the ceilings, the kitchen- everywhere. We had brought food to **** but I couldnt even use the kitchen. Our AC had a freon leak so for more than 24 hours it was 88 degrees in there. Even though a very nice AC contractor came out to fix it eventually, the heat coupled with the roaches was unbearable. We had to cut our trip short and get out of there! Upon arriving home, I had to unpack outside. I found 3 roaches that had crawled into my kids bags while Im the house. After several conversations with the management team, they informed us they were under new ownership and would file the complaint with them corporate office and let us know if there was anything they could do. I have followed up several times and nothing. My families vacation was ruined. I absolutely do not recommend renting this house and any other with Silver Sands rental management.Silver Sands Vacation Rentals Response

I know that cleanliness is a critical part of that equation, so it goes without saying that pest control regularly visits the property. And after reading your review, I asked them to come out right away. Since then, Ive been informed that the property is free and clear of all unwanted guests.
