I received a voicemail from an ************ phone number stating that their department has been retained to process and facilitate a civil complaint that names me as the respondent. The complaint is in pending status because I have the right to mediate first before the complaints are filed, and that I should contact the mediation department ************. If don't, I'll forfeit my mediation rights and the complaint would be forwarded to my local jurisdiction. I also found out that this same person had been calling my family members. I finally decided to call the number and was told I owed in the amount of $1382.32 from a payday I took out in 2017. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and I didn't remember a loan from back then. She sent me an email from a company called *********************** and it states the lender is EZCorp EZ Money. I have never taken out a payday loan from this place nor have I ever even heard of it. I decided to do some research and found that numerous people have encountered the same thing. I've received 5 more calls after that of them trying to get me to make a payment arrangement or settle the debt. I believe this is a scam but I guess I won't fully know until I'm sued or receive court papers as they say would happen if I don't pay.

My stepdad sent me a phone message he received from someone looking for me. They left a number and a reference number and said it was an urgent legal matter our of ************** where I live. I called the number and provided the reference number. I was placed on hold. A gentleman identifying himself as ***** ****** said he was reaching out on behalf of ******* in reference to a loan I defaulted on. I told him I did not know what company that was and did not have a loan with them, he said I was paying on the loan for 4 months and them stopped paying. When I told him that was not true he threatened me. He told me the company would come take my car (he knew the make and model of my car) and that they would seize my Navy Federal account and seize 2 other credit cards that I have. The more I questioned him the more upset he got and finally told me that when ******* takes my car I will not be able to call this mitigation company back to help me.

My ******** received voicemails stating that she owes a large sum of $ for a payday loan from 2013 with a company called EZ-Money. The person who called stated they were with ABA. When we asked what *** stood for we were told it stood for *******, ************************* by one of the *** in the call center (we could hear them laughing in the background). We were hung up on when we pressed for detailed information about the situation. We called back & again I asked what *** stood for. This time I was told that *** was the name of the company & that it didnt stand for anything. I ******d ******** ************************* and found that theyre located in *******, **. The number that called us was based out of ******, **. We called the Phoenix number & got the exact same person as the previous call. They are quick to let you know that youre going to be hauled in into court. They are also quick to let you know that it is not their job to provide you with any information concerning your situation, they are simply there to collect your money. After being hung up on the second time, I began a ****** search & have read enough to know that this is 100% a scam.

I received a call with a voicemail saying it was from a company called United Legal Services about a pending civil suit that is scheduled to be filed. They are saying that I owe EZmoney/EZCORP. If I didn't pay it they were going to sue me and put a lien on my bank account. When I called them they told me I owed over $700 for a loan from 2008 and if they took me to court I would have to pay over $4000. I told them that I didn't know about the loan they were referring to, and the only l oan I ever had was less than what they mentioned, and it was paid in 20010-2012. I also informed them that I was out of the country when at the time of the loan The lady said she would try to get an extension and that I would need to provide a release of liability and would call me back later in the week. When I received the next call the young lady had left a message she said she was with *************************** and that if I would like to resolve this all they need to see is a release of liability. I have tried to find a number to call EZmoney/EZCORP but have had no luck with that.

I receive this one page " lawsuit " yesterday. I never have/do any business with EZMONEY/EZcorp. I never take a loan with any company that I did not pay. I never have anything to do with ***** **********. I could or would never use the name on any loan application. The entire information in this so call lawsuit is inaccurate and fraudulent. I attempted to call the so call law firm but got no response. I called EZMONEY, they didn't answer either. I am not sure if I should report this to the police or what actions I can take. On July 26, 2024, I obtained a loan on my iPad in the amount of $225.00. The monthly service charge is $56.25. On December 4, 2024, I made a service charge payment of $56.25 (bank statement uploaded), which extended my loan until January 1, 2025. I then received some money and ended up retrieving my iPad on December 6, 2024, and was charged another service charge of $56.25. My issue is that basically the $56.25 I paid to have the loan extended to January 1, 2025, was just kept by the store and I feel should have been credited and not deemed as a waste because I retrieved my item way before January 1, 2025. From my knowledge I was not advised that if you retrieve your item prior to extended deadline, you just lose all that money. Doesn't seem like very ethical or fair business practices. I am just looking for a refund of $52.50 (not a store credit).

I received a demand letter from a company called ******************* saying that I owe EZmoney $1000. If I didnt pay it they were going to sue me and they ccd the US District Court.. they furthermore threatened to contact my family members.. When I called them they told me that I owed the money from 2012. I told them I didnt know what they were talking about and I needed documentation proof. The lady said OK and hung up. When I looked further into this company arrowhead legal group on the letterhead, it said theyre out of *****************, when I called the number multiple times it was a answering machine and you cant even leave voicemail because it says that the box is full.. The letter has a payment portal in which I accessed and the address there is ****************** with a different phone number and thats the number I called in which the lady I spoke with answered. Not sure whats going on but when I googled Ezmobey/EzCorp. theres a bunch of scams being reported about this so I believe thats what this is and thats why Im making this complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:
Everything I have received in some way has ******* attached to it. I have paid money,Not only me, but multiple members of my family have been harassed and threatened of legal consequences if the money was not paid. So just simply saying that yall do not collect debts is not acceptable when ur company is doing this to people
