Scammers! Well they stand behind there warranty but you have to pay labor which is like $450 in my case. The repairs made three times on my leaking truck differential bearing and gasket has cost me over $1,000. They told me I probably need a new differential and it would cost me $6,000. The repairs made there only lasted a month. I took it to another mechanic who instantly saw the problem on the axle being damaged. He repaired it for $2,000 with bearings and gaskets on both back wheels. There has been no noise, leaks nor problems so far. If you want to be scammed out of your money then go ahead and go here.Review from Linda G

Spent over ***** dollars and they failed to do their job properly. Replaced everything and they failed to put the screws back on the caliper We almost died on the road due to their negligence. Brake Check refuses to credit my account.Review from Nadine L

Got charged 54.97 for an oil change, checked my dip stick afterwards and it was never done. I went immediately to take 5 down the road to have then look and perform the oil change, they discovered the oil filter was changed but the oil was not changed. V.P reached out to me and said "we don't play god around here" you have no case and that they won't be reimbursing me even though I had video proof and receipts from them and take 5 showing the oil was black. Never again!!Review from Tanaporn S

I only gave 1 star because I had to. I ended up with a leak after taking my car in for a routine oil change. They claimed it was due to normal wear and tear. Mind you I never had a leak or sign of a leak prior to their service. Long story short I had to choose between a temporary plug or new oil pan. I chose the new pan for peace of mind and was told if I pay for the part they would waive the labor. I asked how much and Brake Check quoted $150. I called Auto Zone, which is where they claimed the part was being purchased from but to my surprise the part was quoted and verified by Auto Zone to be $94.99. I contacted corporate and stated my concern as to why I am being charged $50 more for a part to fix a problem I didnt have before their service and was told and I quote well we have to make a little money on this because were already waiving the labor for it. Thats ridiculous! So youre going to price gauge a part to compensate for the labor you offered to waive? How is this ok? I wouldnt even have this problem in the first place if it wasnt for your company. At the end of the conversation I was told Im left with 2 options: to either pay $150 and have them fix it or if I choose to buy the part myself I have to take my car somewhere else because they wont fix it. It is sad that they would rather lose a loyal customer than $50 but it is what it is. I will make it my mission to warn others about Brake Check and their shady ways. Dont do it people, youre better off going somewhere else. They clearly value money more than their customers!!Review from Mohammad H

I went on Saturday 9/22/2024 to the location on I10w UTSA for a simple brake light switch. The unexperienced employee and manager ************ did not know what they were doing and put a wrong part. The brake lights did go out but but when you drive in the highway after few minutes the BRAKES LOCK we were driving with no bakes in the car. We returned the car back and they can see the issue there , they changed the brake switch and this time got the part from Auto Zone instead of ******* , unfortunately it's the same thing, the brakes locked again. *** and ****** or ***** refused to inspect the issue unless I pay $120. they want us to pay for something they did wrong. They refused to give us our old part back, the manager said it's in the trash and he was not going to look for it. He put out car key at the seat of my car and did not want to take any responsibility to fix the issue, and he did not care that me and family driving the Van with big problem that they cause to the brakes. They iendangered me and my family by driving the car with the brakes locked.I called a mobile mechanic and he was able to put the right part in the van. I called the shop on Monday morning a asked for the corporate office to file a complain. in which i did . 2 hrs later the manager ****** called me and tried to be ** nice. but it was too late. Today i got i call from the corporate office and he said he was the vice president and he was as rude as h*** did not want to listen to me and the call went south and lots of yelling and the line got cut off.The wrong part they put was oversized and has a spring at the end of it which kept hitting the bake paddle and sending a signal to the brakes to stop at all the time and locking the brakes. ***, ****** and the vice president don't even know that. MONEY was more important to them than figuring out the issue and the danger they put the customer inReview from Barbie F

I just want to vent since I just vented to ********************* 2 of a minor squeaking problem I had after 2 months ago spending over a $1000 here! I came in yesterday regarding a loud noise coming from the driver side. ******************** I believed checked it out and told me the problem I didn't have the funds at the time but I got my front rotors resurfaced and paid $72 plus dollars for it and as soon as I got on the road the squeaking noise was still there. So I turned around and came back. I ended up spending another $300 to replace my rotors and sat in a waiting room that was 94 degrees along with another lady named ******. 2 hrs later drenched in sweat my car was ready. Paid my bill and was on my way! Got on 610 and guess what the squeaking was still there I called and he said just drive it. It will go away! Day 2 it's still there. I came here again and ******* met me and I told him as the manager flagged him down and told him to tell me to come back later. Not happening! I have to drive my car to ******** this weekend and won't be listening to that squeaking for 3 hrs. The other girl ****** said the same thing as he was telling her all the things she didn't need. Meanwhile as soon as I left he turn on the ** I am sorry does he pay the ** bill for the customers sitting in the waiting room????? I will be posting this same message on ****** and anywhere else I can get the word out that I am a ****** OFF CUSTOMER!!!Review from Brandi A

If I could leave no stars I would. DO NOT take your car here. I went in for basic brakes and rotors replacements (mind you, it cost me over $700) but I said okay just because I knew from history replacing the rotors would cost a little extra. From there, I left and the next day my car was making this grinding noise which sounded much worst then when I brought it in the first time. I called that day and who I'm guessing is the manager told me to bring in the next day because it would be an hour and a half before they could see me. I did just that (brought my car in the next day) and was told I needed something that was completely different from what I initially came in for and the part for it would not be ready until the next day. So now at this point, I'm going another day without my car. I go back to pick it up the next morning and have to pay another $900! I drive off and I still hear the same sound! I take it back up to them immediately and they have to keep the car for ANOTHER day! He tells me it's the rotors and all I can think is "didn't I just have the rotors replaced?!". He gives me some b.s. answer and I still have to wait to get another part. I call every few hours checking on the status and the manager continues to give me the run around, "We just got the part in. I'm going to test drive and make sure I don't hear the sound. Just give us a few hours." Just a bunch of mess. I went back up to the shop to check on progress myself and they hadn't even started work on my car, even though the part had came in. Again, I'm given the run around. "They sent the wrong part". By all means, avoid going here (********** W *******, **).Review from Janielle H

I took my car to Just brakes and the ***************** was really nice and sis that there was a issue with suspension lots of things needed to be done was about $6000 I told him I don't have that kind of money he had me apply for credit card and I was approved for $2000. So told him that someone the work would have to wait so he got it together for me and got it down to $2450 he said that it will be ready by the end of day. He called me and said there was a bolt they were having an issue removing and would need to keep over night they will completed other work. ***** then called me back asking that I pay $2000 to close out for the day and I allowed it which was a mistake because the work has not been completed so now in the system shows that work is done and my vehicle is ready when it's not said ok no problem. The next day a different guy called me the and told me they would need to keep it another day saying they were having an issue getting apart off in the back. I said what is different from yesterday I said tomorrow is Memorial Day will you be open he said we will be working but won't be open I said well I will need my car tomorrow he said they will get it delivered tomorrow. I feel they have taken my money and is not working on my car at all. It's not even registered in the system as my car being there so they are getting away with not working on my car and receiving funds for the car. I am very upset and feel like I am being taken advantage of the shops is no t open today on Memorial Day and there is no one working on my car this will be the 3rd day my car is still there and looks like I will not get it todayReview from John P

Deceitful billing and rude disrespectful shop managers, VP regional manager and HR department. Business practices order parts from parts stores and absolutely low rates (ie brake pads Costing customers $50 if they bought them in store, they get them at 50-80% lower than that) then install those brakes, to then return the customers old ********************* back to the parts store under the new brake warrenty and get their money back. Only the to charge the customer over the $50 of the part cost.($60-$600) and that's just one part example...many other warrenty items are purchased at a reduced rate returned and the customer upcharged....zero transparency and customer is unaware because SOP for ********************** is to have parts delivered from outside suppliers (O'Reillys, Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone and NAPA) out of customer view to keep this Deceitful practice from the customer.
