Used car dealership refused to sell car at the listed advertised price (which the salesman confirmed after the test drive), unless I paid for the dealerships VIP package or used car certification package, both around $3,000. This is not transparent and in fact deceptive. The salesperson actually said, please help me. Several individuals have documented the same experience, and although the dealership pretends to care about it, the practice apparently continues. We felt deceived and hurt that the sales team refused to sell a used vehicle unless we elected to also buy products and services that we didnt need on top of their list price for the vehicle. So, we went to other dealerships - having learned our ****** at Shottenkirk - and asked for transparency. Those dealers stated that they dont work like that, forcing customers to accept markups and additional conditions. Other customers should know about this before the invest time and effort at Shottenkirk Toyota.Review from Vanessa E

Not only did they try hard sell me, to the point that I had to ask for my personal car keys multiple times so I could leave, I found out from my bank that they lied to me about how they would submit the credit application I submitted through their dealership. They assured me they would request credit specifically from my bank. They did not. This left me with a credit pull to unknown lender(s). I will have to do another credit pull through my bank to purchase a vehicle. One of the managers also told me that he couldnt tell me the total cost of a vehicle. He would only tell me that he would make the monthly payments work out to $400 a month.
