Took vehicle(Ford 350 2008) in to the mechanic shop since November 2022, gave a deposit of $3500 (1/2 of the total amount) for a engine issue. Never received a call from them, I am the one having to go and speak with them personally . Every time that I go to their shop they tell me that they have no mechanic available. This has been an ongoing issue which they don't seem to have any plans on fixing. They have been negligent for too long now.

I took my motor to RMS machine shop on 10/26/2022 to begin machine work and left 500$ deposit to get started. I then returned 11/3/2022 to give 3000$ to order parts but wanted to go over the parts before the owner (****) purchased them. **** gave me a receipt of the total cost but I never signed the receipt for the parts I wanted. Ive messaged him about part details and never got a response. He ordered all the parts and completed the motor prior to any confirmation. When I went to see the motor after he had asked me for the remainder of payment I noticed that the parts looked USED/REFURBISHED and not the parts I wanted. I called several parts suppliers and did research myself and found that the part numbers did not match the parts **** told me they were. I asked **** for the parts list and he told me he doesnt get them until the end of every month and thats something he doesnt have to disclose to his customers. He gave me a ultimatum stating that if my motor has been there longer than a month he can do as he pleases without remaining payment. Every picture he sent was photo shopped to make the engine and parts look newer than what they are which also rose suspicion. I tried to reason with him about a half refund and he would not comply. I need help to see if I am able to get at least half of my money back and if I can work with the unsigned receipt.

Yes to this matter, the individual saw the motor that was built and offered to him, so he was in agreement because his motor wasnt rebuildable then he said he wanted aluminum performance heads so we asked him for the deposit on the heads because people always change their minds and back out so we have that policy on our invoice that says all sales are final, we told him the motor was ready he had just to come by and pay the remaining balance, then he started complaining about everything it seemed like he was just wanting to back out  so I told him that we put on everything he asked for, so now we have this issue because the work was done and all the parts were installed and nothing can be returned, there is nothing I can really . Thanks RMS LLC

I am rejecting this response because:

The version of his story does not add up and is false stated. Why would I spend my money on a motor that was non-rebuildable and why would he work on one? I am not denying that I wanted aluminum heads but he installed a brand that I did not request (photo with part # provided). He told me he was not able to show me a parts list because he doesnt get his invoice until the end of the month but I dont understand how that is when he had the list to order the parts. The motor was not fully complete upon pick up and I have attached a photo to this thread as well. This person (****) was very unreasonable and very unprofessional when it came to working something out and showing the parts list.

Please review the photos and advise on what action I may need to take next.

    Thank you BBB

I spoke with the owner ***************** on the phone on August 13th and explained what was happening with my truck and he stated to bring it by and he would take a look at it. I took my **** ***** Silverado by his shop around 1 pm on August 13, 2022. **** took a look at it and stated that my crack shaft was going bad. I asked **** how much would it cost for rebuild the motor and he gave me a price of $2500.00. I asked **** if he accepted credit card as a form of payment because I use my credit card to get points. **** said yes and that his credit card machine was down and it should be up and running in a couple of days. I paid **** off on September 2, 2022. **** called me on Monday September 12th and told me that my truck was ready and that everything looked good. I went and picked up my truck. On my way home from the shop I had a coolant leak. I stopped by OReilleys parts and a technician came out and showed me that the clamp had not been put on the heater hose. On September 13th I went out to my truck and it had an oil leak and slight tapping noise in the engine. I took my truck back to **** on the 13th of September and he stated that he couldnt hear any noise. **** and his mechanic only put sealant on my oil pan to mask the leak but did not fix it. I took my truck to ********* on September 27th and a few days later I was told that it had several leaks, they used dye and black light to see the leaks. ********* indicated it was leaking at the rear seal, front seal and oil pan gasket where all the sealant was. **** stated ********* does tires, they dont know about engines. October 3rd I took it to Freedom Chevrolet and the diagnosis came back October 11th that oil cooler hoses were leaking, oil pan gasket leaking and noisy oil pump. I sent **** both invoices he said I have a year warranty. When texting back and forth he states hes never at the shop. The last 3.5 months has been frustrating dealing with ****, and my motor noise is louder. I request a refund.
