My wife and I wanted to add a sunroom onto our home. On 10 May 2022 we signed a contract with Serview to add one. The contract was for $30,000 and we put a deposit of $3,000. We were told that the construction would begin in 2 - 3 months. On 25 May Serview filed an ******************************* request with the ********************** for the construction. It noted the construction would begin ASAP, would take 2 - 3 days, but would be 2 - 3 months away. I have continued to call Serview to ask when they are going to start. They say they are waiting for materials. I told them we agreed that it would be 2 - 3 months after we signed the contract. The contract does not say 2 - 3 months but the ******************************* request says 2 - 3 months...and we were told by the salesman it would be 2 - 3 months. We are tired of waiting and we want our $2,000 back and not continue to work with this company and have others know what kind of company this is.

Yes, ******************* is correct in that he entered into a binding contract with our company to build him a custom sunroom. ******************* sunroom required us to order some special built materials from two different manufacturers which were designed specifically for his project. ******************* is also correct in that it has taken some time for the custom built materials to arrive in *****.

However, ******************* did not give us $3000 down payment, nor did anyone from our company promise ******************* we could obtain his custom built materials and install his project in any such timeline.

******************* did give us a $2000 down payment and he was advised, in advance that Covid-19 has disrupted the supply chain line throughout the country and that we would do our very best to obtain his custom built materials asap. During this timeline one of our main manufacturers in ******* suffered two hurricanes which further delayed delivery of Mr ********* materials.

To date our company has ordered $10,806.93 of materials specifically designed for ******************* project. His material order is now completed and sitting in our warehouse waiting to be installed.

In the past, we have offered to build Mr ********* sunroom and install temporary doors while we wait for his custom-built doors to arrive in ***** and ******************* has declined our offer.

Although ******************* has made it obvious though several phone calls that he can not afford his project, we believe it is both unethical, and irresponsible for ******************* to sign a binding contract with our company - request us to order and build custom materials specifically designed for his project then refuse to pay for his materials.

Despite having a binding contract with *******************, our company is willing to voluntarily terminate the contract in exchange for ******************* to only pay for the special order materials he requested us to have built for his project.

I am rejecting this response because:  I was promised that the sunroom was to be erected in 2 - 3 months, as I have proven in documents.  I started calling at the 3-month **** and continually put off for any number of reasons.  Serview is responsible for special orders, not the customer.  I request my $2,000 deposit and I will look for another company to install my sunroom in a timely manner.  I will not pay for materials that Serview has ordered.

    Regards,

Thank you for your response. As you can see in the legally binding contract ******************* provided, nowhere does it state we could possible build his sunroom in a certain time frame nor has anyone from our company promised ******************* we could do so.

We have obtained all of the materials ******************* requested ** to order and have called him several times to schedule his install however, ******************* has made it clear that he is unable to afford his project. Therefore, our company is willing to voluntarily terminate the contract after ******************* pays the cost of the **************** he ordered for his sunroom.

We will be **************** Mr ********* materials any day of the week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday or on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

On may 20,2022 a Serview design consultant came to my home to provide an estimate for a screened in porch. After drawing schematics, he provided me with a $7,000 quote for a 10'x10' screened in porch with a doggie door. I asked him to break down the price and show me what's included in the $6,750 I was being quoted for"walls." He stated that Serview does not break out their prices for small jobs, only large, and that it would not be fair to show what their profit is. I asked him if that was company policy and he said he didn't know, he's only a design specialist. I called the main office and was told that he quoted me $222 per linear foot (not specified on quote) and that I can look at it as basically 50% materials/50% labor. I said I don't have "walls" as part of my quote, I only needed solar screens. How are solar screens, aluminum tracking and labor $7,000 for a 10'x10' porch? He was not able to answer. I told him if he couldn't provide the breakdown that I would be contacting the BBB. That is fraudulent business practices to provide a false quote in hopes of stealing unsuspecting customers money.i have attached a photo of his quote and my porch.

**************** States she did not receive a cost breakdown for her proposed project. As you can see in ******************** attachment, it clearly shows the breakdown of 30 linear feet of screen wall.

    (1) Screen wall - $6750 (30X X $225 = $6750)

    (2) Door - $500

    (3) HOA - Free

    (4) ******** ************************ $7500

    Military Discount 5% = $375

We stand by our pricing and will honor the free estimate for 30 days. We encourage **************** to contact our competitors - Patio Enclosures - Statewide Remodelers & Champion Windows.

I am rejecting this response because: They STOOL have not broken out the$6750. Again that is what use being requested. Your process are GROSSLY inflated for a 10'x10'screened in patio in comparison to your competitors by 50%. Answer the question. Break out your rates or this will be pushed further.
