Hello BBB,My complaint stems from the lack of service and support received from a business that aims to use the power of network to help businesses grow in the Schertz/Cibolo area. That previous statement does not involve solely paying The Chamber for every resource.Almost ever chamber event comes with a cost even after a membership fee is given The Chamber gives me a personalized banner for use and I use it on a flyer offering art classes and I receive a threatening and harassing email from the President of the Chamber. ****** ********* After telling her I used the personalized logo banner they gave me for my membership, she goes on my personal social media page and puts a disclaimer that the chamber doesn't sponsor my services This is all hypocritical because they took my money for their membership and what they are saying I can't use my membership in for their endorsement despite giving me a banner with their logo and my business name on it Also I received further harassment from the owner demanding how I send emails and not include my association from the Chamber.

Mr. ********** sent us a flyer he wished us to post advertising an event he was having. I have attached a copy of that flyer. At the top of the flyer was our Chamber logo.

The posting implies that we are part of his event as The Chamber in a spot that usually is understood as a sponsor. I sent an email (attached) of a friendly but professional

nature explaining the need for removal of our logo from the flyer. What commenced from that was a series of argumentative emails with denial of the logo being ours (attached), his stating he

would modify his flyer but that our site didn't say he couldn't use it on materials (attached), my response with a clipping from his member portal that shows the same logo and where it states the specific use

for the badge to be displayed on his website and does not give permission for any other use on materials (attached) and then the last email he sent to me that seemed to go back to the original argument of the logo use.

He then posted the flyer on his company's Instagram with our logo still on it even though in his prior email, he said he would be removing it as of 3:53pm. I then posted as our Chamber stating the fact that "we were not a sponsor of the event nor affiliated

with the classes being offered in the advertisement"  as our logo could be implied to be.

Also, a member of our Chamber reached out to us because she received an email from Mr. ********** that implied our Chamber and their business was in a collaboration with Mr. ********** (subject line with member name redacted and my response attached).

In the email I stated that the member was confused about why they were receiving it and how we were involved and I asked that Mr. ********** represent that it was his business, not our Chamber, that
was seeking collaboration in possible joint ventures.  I have attached two snippets of the emails with the name of the member redacted.

Last, below are the membership features that a member receives at Mr. ************ level of investment. No where in the membership does it state the giving of banners for use or endorsements of member events, as Mr. ************* complaint

    states.

We hope this resolves the situation and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

    Thank you for your time.

I am rejecting this response because:

The business owner is not properly identifying the timeline and what it entailed. I already had my flyer out so I didn't go against their wishes. Also I used the logo they gave me.  It is not my fault ****** and the chamber doesn't have a different logo for their businesses who are members (which I am) than their initial Logo. This president of the Chamber has not showcased any accountability for her actions and harassment. I would like to know if she does this with all her businesses listed. I would like to know all of her African American business owners as chamber members like myself. I am a patron and member and I have been treated as a stranger. I am not satisfied and it appears ****** doesn't see what is wrong here. She needs to consult her peers and make group decisions because her judgement is very questionable and her treatment of people is not satisfactory

    Regards,

    Good morning.

Thank you for forwarding the correspondence. As previously addressed in the first email, I feel all the attachments that I sent to include the emails, the date and time of the conversations as seen on the emails, as well as supporting screenshots, helped to clarify the situation. The member was never sent our logo for use on his flyers and all correspondence to him has been professional and not of a personal nature.Unfortunately there seems to be no meeting of the minds on this issue but with the information shared with the BBB, our clearly posted usage allowance (attached) and all the information provided, we consider this matter closed but wish Mr. ********** all the best. Thank you.
